I've been seeing these pop up for a while and always wondered why people needed them. Then I started playing Call of Duty and Battlefield 4. Man my thumbs started to hurt hahaha

Might have to pick up some of these for me and my brother!

    • You won't regret it! ;)

    • Hi thelastsensamurai! We've tried and tested many bought from China and eBay ourselves, and many of them are quite slippery and detach easily (although we haven't tried all of them). Once you try these, the difference in grip and texture of the Grip-iTs are very noticeable.
As for price, we bring these in from the US. Considering the exchange rate, cost of shipping, a small margin for ourselves, and the recent Australia Post postage price hike, we've done our best pricing it in AUD :)

I've tried the eBay ones and got even more frustrated, they constantly slipped off and were slippery themselves. Bit the bullet and got some of these and will never look back. They stay on tight, are grippy and mean your controller doesn't wear down.

U can buy new thumbsticks and a torx driver and replace them yourself every year or two for about $3 total

$12 for a blob of silicone is freaking ridiculous

    • +2

Hi pointless comment (great username btw!), that is very true for people who have the time and effort to open their controller. However, many simply don't have time or aren't willing to risk ruining an AUD80 controller.
The Grip-iTs are tried and tested to offer a simple and straightforward way that works :) Not forgetting the added grip and control that they offer too.

Takes 20 mins max with all the effort involved in sitting at a desk while using your hands

if you know which end of the screwdriver to hold, its unlikely you will cause any damage unless you are doing it suspended upside down from a height over a body of water or concrete surface

And If you are paying $80 for a controller, you are doing it wrong

I reckon you could sell these things for $5 and still turn a profit. Postage is the cost of envelope and a $1 stamp

Im guessing you dont include tracking with these little marvels

  • Reviews seem good, but hard to justify the spend. I bough nba 2k14 for 5 bucks new

More 3 pointers with better control! :)

  • do you make aluminium covers? i saw aluminium replacement sticks on Ebay and are genuinely considering buying them, but was wondering if covers existed first

    • Hi rjack58, sorry we don't as of this time. It is a matter of preference and aluminium sticks have quite a different feel altogether, they are harder and have a rough edge along the rim to help with control which some people prefer. If you've tried an Xbox controller then it would be of a similar feel. On the other hand, the Grip-iTs are softer on the thumbs and achieves it's grip from the material and the gecko-hand printed in the center of the product. Hope this helps :)

      • ahh ok, thanks, i dont actually like Soft Rubbery Things,

  • +2

These are the best stick covers I've ever used. After all the reported early issues of DS4 controllers' rubber wear I made sure to always have these things on.

    • That's great to hear fatpizza! We're glad you have been finding them useful!

I can't recommend them which I hate to say.

I bought a bulk lot to test out, we're running ps4, ps3, xbox, 360, one and wii u.

We had some issues with the first set sent out which to their credit the guys fixed us up very cheerfully.

Unfortunately speaking from an design and engineering point of view, it's still only a temporary solution and as hard as they try using the material they've got they'd have to completely re-engineer what they are doing to make it work.

On the ps4 dual shock 4's we had hoped they would slip over the damaged grips on a set which they were useless for (apparantly not designed for this either) and we had a set that just kept sliding off the the perfect condition dual shock 4's and felt great.

Out of our 4 controllers Generally mine and my backup get thrashed the most, my gf's gets moderate use and the 4th control is reserved for when mates are over, these grips do help preventing the wear on the factory installed grips, however even with varying degrees of use they do tend to come off / show signs of wear at vary degrees of use.

On the ps3 its about the same, xbox one not as bad but they are a really tight fit on it which may help, 360 and original xbox they seem to just slide straight off it.

Wii U main control touch pad fits on and works great…… wii u pro control…… thats a tragedy story right there…. fitted on looked great felt great, never had any games for it. Broke out the new mario kart other week and used it for the first time, kept thinking we had a defective controller as it would just jam out of nowhere. thought it couldnt be the grips as they didnt seem to touch it. Removed them and it worked great. Put them back on certain angles it would just jam.

    Do they work? Yes

Will they work for a long duration? Unfortunately not, they have all seemed to wear, a lot less than the original run sony thumb grips on the ds4
Should you buy them? Up to you…. we were happy at the time we purchased them as they felt great when working, we did get a few defective ones but the guys sorted us out, however father time and the material it's made out of unfortunately just doesnt work in it's favour.

What would we say back to the company who makes these? You gotta reengineer these, get rid of the symbol on the sticks, change the material it's made out as it wears out from prolonged use.

If the price was a lot lower i'd say jump on them and just replace them every 6 months as they are better then a lot of the cheap ones on ebay, but thats about where the praise ends, they need to work on making them a better fit and quality control (many of them are physically different sizes, some will feel tighter than others on the same kind of stick).

I can't fault their customer service I just wish the product went the distance, heres hoping they can take the feedback and make version 2.0 killer.

Hi acex138, thank you so much for taking the time to write such a thorough and constructive comment!
We are continously trying to revise and make improvements to the product, and your feedback will definitely be taken on board for ver 2.0 :)

Happy to say that since your original purchase, we've actually already tweaked the Grip-iT. The latest versions are now thicker and more durable. The fit has also been improved upon so that it wraps better around the thumb stick to reduce occurrences of it coming off. However they still are not made to fit the Wii products, only PS4 PS3 Xbox One and 360 for now.

As with many products, general wear and tear varies greatly with the degree of usage. Some people use their grips for years with no wear, and some use them for months before having to replace them. It depends greatly on how hard users are on their thumb sticks and how often they play. The new versions should last much longer though having said that. There will be the very rare occasion of a defective grip slipping through QC and into the hands of a user, in which we have always been happy to replace at no cost.

Thank you so much for your kind comments about our customer service, we work really hard to make sure all our customers are 100% satisfied with us :)

  • I can't see where to put the code. Is it before pressing Checkout with Paypal?

    • Hi alejandromagnorsky, instead of clicking "Paypal Check out", please click on the regular "Checkout" button instead. It should direct you to the next page where you will see a "Discount" field on the right hand side (on Desktop view). You will still have the option of paying via Paypal with this method.
Sorry for the confusion and hope this helps!

  • I've bought silicon ones for the ps4 from eBay that definitely don't slip. The ones I use are a bit of a struggle to get on though

    • Hi nairdajun, good to hear that you managed to find ones that you liked! :) We've tried a lot from eBay and many simply don't do the job well enough, some are either too slippery, come off easily, or both.

Decided to give them a go. Cheers.
