Bridgestone Tyres: Buy 3 Get 1 Free - Ecopia, Potenza & Turanza Serenity Plus

1040

Bridgestone are doing their annual buy 3 get 1 free deal again. This was last done in November/December which was unusual.

Offer ends on 30/4, but I'd get in quick if you're after RE003 in common sizes as those generally go out of stock within the first month.

Also shop around, there's this tendency for the tyre shops to quote different prices on the same tyres, and some will also try to make you pay for fitting and balancing on the free tyre. The usual Bridgestone dealers are Jax Tyres, Bridgestone Select and Bob Jane. KTAS should also have them.

The usual T&Cs apply.

By taking part in this “Get the 4th Tyre FREE” offer participants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
The promotion commences at 9:00am on Monday 29 February 2016 and closes at 5:00pm on Saturday 30 April 2016 (“Promotion Period”) and entry is open to Australian residents only.
To be eligible to receive the 4th tyre free, you must visit a participating store and purchase a set of 4 or multiple of 4 Bridgestone Potenza passenger tyres, 4 Bridgestone Ecopia passenger and SUV tyres or 4 Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus tyres in one transaction per vehicle.
Bridgestone Potenza and Turanza Serenity Plus tyres are suitable for certain passenger vehicles only. Bridgestone Ecopia tyres are suitable for certain passenger and SUV vehicles only. Seek advice from your local store or by using the tyre search function here.
The offer applies only to the purchase of tyres described in Clause 3 above, in one retail transaction during the Promotion Period and strictly while stocks last. Not all sizes available at all locations.
This “Get the 4th Tyre FREE” offer is not available on any other tyres manufactured or distributed by Bridgestone.
Available at participating Bridgestone Select, Bridgestone Service Centre and Bridgestone Tyre Centre stores.
Subsidiary companies, retailers and agencies of Bridgestone Australia Ltd., are ineligible for “Get the 4th Tyre FREE” offer.
Government, wholesale and fleet customers of Bridgestone Australia Ltd. are ineligible for the “Get the 4th Tyre FREE” offer.
Eligible customers will receive the 4th tyre free off the invoice at the time of purchase.
This promotion cannot be combined with any other offer including, but not limited to motoring club discounts, VIP card programs and all other promotions.
The promoter’s decision on all matters relating to this “Save More on Four, Buy 3 and get the 4th for $10” Offer is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

    • For my size I got told only the Serenity + avail…. 225 45 17. Go figure

    • What size is that?

      • I have a toyota tarago (2013)

        215/55R17

  • Which is better overall
    Ecopia vs Serenity plus
And also in terms of fuel economy

    • Ecopia for fuel saving (around 5% apparently) and Serenity plus for ride comfort, noise and longevity of the tyres.

  • Could anyone explain how it works? I get a quote from any affiliated reseller (Jax, Bridgestone, Bob Jane, KTAS etc.) and once gotten the best quote for each tyre, they will put the 4th one as free?

Or do I need to contact Bridgestone after that?

    • +1

Ask while you're obtaining the quote I guess. The JAX website is currently displaying that they are running the promo.

  • Called bob Jane, other Bridgestone branches and a few others.
Hoppers Crossing store were the cheapest, 4 ecopia tyres 195/60r15 including balancing/alignment for $395
Not sure if it's good but holy shit the missus's car needed new wheels and the ecopia is well reviewed and safe. Best deal I could find this morning in the west.

    • That is cheap!
They quoted me $159 for Serenity Plus in 195/65r15! That's the same I paid for RE003's in 215/60R16 last November. And that's excluding alignment. This is in WA.

      • i was also quoted the same price for the same size tyre as yours in brisbane.

        • I am not an expert on tyre pricing, but it seems like a lot to me.

        • +1

          @Make it so:

From what I've seen, pricing structure in Australia is based largely on the different brands. The cheap and expensive ends of the market are based on material quantity whereas the mid-tier brands are more based on how common a size is.

For example, in cheap brands like Achilles and Chinese "Lucky Dragon" brands, a 225/40R18 is actually cheaper than a 235/40R18. However, once you get into the "mainstream" brand like Bridgestone and Michelin, the pricing starts being based on how common they are (235/40R18 in a RE003 is rougly $40ea cheaper than a 225/40R18). But when you start getting into the niche market tyres (e.g. Yokohama Advan AD08R), the pricing starts being based on material quantity again.

  • Guys please confirm if following prices are expected

    Camry 2008 16in
    Ecopia $452
    Serenity plus $552
Seems a lot I never knew tyres would cost this much. But it is what it is if this is what it is

    • What's the tyre size?

      • 215/60R16

        • Prices aren't too bad for Bridgestone. You could save money buying cheaper Chinese tyres, but those generally don't work as well in wet weather. A tyre I've had experience with that I liked was the Toyo Teo Plus. Possibly get a price on that and compare it to the Bridgestones on promo.

    • Did you get a quote on RE003? They are really good tyres. I paid $477 for 4 of those in November (4th free). Same size as what you are after.

      • is RE003 different to the Ecopia, Serenity, or Potenza brand ?

        • RE003 is from the Potenza Adrenaline range. Very high performance tyre. Reviews are excellent.

        • @Make it so: what about fuel economy - that would be my top priority

        • @usama91: Hmm…. The Ecopia and Serenity might be better for that. Can't give meaningful comment on it, as I put them on a rather thirsty car which mostly does city-driving, so I can't notice any difference really. Rolling resistance is a minimal factor for me.

      • Not to mention Potenza is a performance range and the life expectancy is about 30,000 KM where are Ecopia is about 40-45K.

Fuel efficiency is worst than Ecopia because of the performance (more fiction)

        • (more fiction)

          Awesome! Back to the future!
Got between 35k-40k out of them. Good tyre, though. For me, safety is worth a premium.

    • They Quote me $135 per tyre not sure what tyre was it and I got quote for camry 2009

one tyre free if I will buy 3

  • Got quoted on RE003 235/35/19 $356 Per tyre at Bridgestone Select (please let us know if you got something better). I think I will give Nitto NT05 a try @ $220 per tyre (4th tyre is not for free). Is a weekend car, so not really concern about wet weather grip

  • +1

RE003 in 235/40R/18 Out of Stock according to our local JAX, Bob Jane and Bridgestone. Got quoted $600 for all 4 and backorder 4 weeks.

  • +1

Just got a set of RE003 205/55 16in for $140 each, and a front + rear wheel alignment for $60. That was at Jax Thornleigh

  • Forgive my ignorance but what is RE003? Can anyone recommend a tyre for i30 (205/55/R16)?

I have about 1mm tread left before I hit the tread indicator. Being an ozbargainer how long would this be likely to last me roughly? I have done 45,000km so far on these current tyres.

Tossing up whether to replace now or wait until the very last chance..!

    • Its a particular model of the Potenza series. So we've got RE001, RE002 etc.

Personal preference to replace them or not, wouldn't think the vehicle will pass a safety's check at such slow tread. Safety comes first for me now, especially with a toddler in the back seat so I personally wouldn't risk it. Besides, the deal is too sweet to resist.

I have 2 Toyo TEO Plus I need replacing, however have been quoted $229 per tyre considering hardly anyone stocks them. For an extra $142 I'm swapping out all 4 :) Can't really complain about that.

    • RE003 is one of the tyres in the Bridgestone Potenza range. It's the latest (and best) available in Australia in the Potenzas.

1mm can last up to 5,000km depending how aggressively you drive. If you're not after a specific brand/model tyre, there's usually some buy 3 get 1 deal from a manufacturer every month or so anyway. This includes the lower end Bridgestone tyres, which are usually on special twice or three times a year anyway - The Potenza however is usually once a year (with the exception being last year where it appeared in November/December)

      • Cheers for the info. So the RE003 being a 'performance tyre' is this suited to be putting on a boring family hatchback or more for revheads/people in cars like subarus etc?

        • Revheads. They literally only last 20-25k km.

        • That is a very good question which I wondered myself. I've ordered them to be fitted on a VW R36 Wagon. Jax mentioned that the S001 would have better wear, which he is able to offer for $660 all 4 fitted and balanced.

Would be interesting to see other's thoughts on this.

  • which tyre is better for mazda 3 195/65/15 yokohama BluEarth AE01 or bridgestone ecopia EP100 both around 130 each offering buy 3 get 1 free. or michelin Energy XM2 which offer $50 cash back.

    • according to review in productreview.com.au, seems like the yokohama tyre is better.

      • Just looked at tyre placard according to it mazda 3 need 91V load and speed rating.yokohama BluEarth AE01 or bridgestone ecopia EP100 does not have the 91V option.maybe XM2 or serenity plus is the only option?

  • I got quoted from Bridgestone Select Taren Point, 4 Turanza Serenity Plus size 215 50 R17, at $199 each, so a total of $663 including alignment. Haven't gone through with it yet, also considering Hankook Ventus Prime2 K115 from Jax which is the same price but with a $100 gift card.

  • Been quoted $169 for serenity plus. Size 205/60R16. Wheel alignment $49. Fitting, balancing, disposal included. Is that normal price?

    • I was quoted the same price. The serenity plus is a bridgestone exclusive tyre so I don't know where to find it cheaper. Alignment was $45.

    • I paid $400 for four 215/60/16s in last years offer for the Serenity plus.
      I think alignment was $30.

  • for 195/65 R15, i was quoted from bridgestone store in adelaide: $149 each for EP100, and $159 for serenity plus.

rang a few other stores got cheaper price which bridgestone agreed to match, so people make sure you do your work and try to get the best price out of these so called promotions.

about 5 years back, i replaced my tyres, and spent about 225 for each dunlop sp300 which came originally on my honda, talking about my naive and stupidity…..

    • Wow, that's expensive.
If you haven't committed already, consider the Bob Jane offer. Apparently the Yokohama BluEarth's are better than the Ecopia's. I paid $132 per tyre (Ecopia's would have been $129). Same size as yours. Bob Jane charges $55 for wheel alignment, whereas Bridgestone normally charges $75.

  • So how long do the RE003’s really last – does anyone here actually run them? I’m reading mixed results – for some people they don’t last long at all, some people are getting decent (40K+) wear from them.

I was running Goodyear Excellence (stock tyres on my FG Falcon), they lasted 66K – the rears were very close to the wear marker, the fronts still had a few mm left, but I decided to take up this deal and get the four RE003’s before Winter hits and the roads get slippery.

I’ll be disappointed if I don’t get at least 40K out of them 

(I could only buy the RE003's in my size, no serenity or EP in my size).

    • In general the RE003 wear rating is 220. As always it depends on car geometry & driving style :)
I had Pirelli P-Zero Rosso, rated between 220-300 depending on model and traveled over 60k on them.

  • Im getting charged $280 for a tyre for Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus 235/40R18 95W

Anyone know what they are worth roughly?

Might get the RE003 for $200 a tyre.

    • RE003 in that size is out of stock for 6 weeks, apparently.

  • I just got Re003 in 225/45/17 for my rexy for $580 including alignment

  • The Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus are these only available from Bridgestone stores. So to go to KTAS etc would I need to look at ER33 or ER300 - how do these compare to the Serenity Plus.

I have a Lancer and was quoted $565 for 205/60/16. I noticed earlier in tread people were saying they got them for $400. Is $400 achievable?

  • $387 for RE003's at Liverpool Bob Jane

    215/60R

    • $50 for wheel alignment
