Bridgestone Tyres: Buy 3 Get 1 Free - Ecopia, Potenza & Turanza Serenity Plus

1040

Bridgestone are doing their annual buy 3 get 1 free deal again. This was last done in November/December which was unusual.

Offer ends on 30/4, but I'd get in quick if you're after RE003 in common sizes as those generally go out of stock within the first month.

Also shop around, there's this tendency for the tyre shops to quote different prices on the same tyres, and some will also try to make you pay for fitting and balancing on the free tyre. The usual Bridgestone dealers are Jax Tyres, Bridgestone Select and Bob Jane. KTAS should also have them.

The usual T&Cs apply.

By taking part in this “Get the 4th Tyre FREE” offer participants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
The promotion commences at 9:00am on Monday 29 February 2016 and closes at 5:00pm on Saturday 30 April 2016 (“Promotion Period”) and entry is open to Australian residents only.
To be eligible to receive the 4th tyre free, you must visit a participating store and purchase a set of 4 or multiple of 4 Bridgestone Potenza passenger tyres, 4 Bridgestone Ecopia passenger and SUV tyres or 4 Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus tyres in one transaction per vehicle.
Bridgestone Potenza and Turanza Serenity Plus tyres are suitable for certain passenger vehicles only. Bridgestone Ecopia tyres are suitable for certain passenger and SUV vehicles only. Seek advice from your local store or by using the tyre search function here.
The offer applies only to the purchase of tyres described in Clause 3 above, in one retail transaction during the Promotion Period and strictly while stocks last. Not all sizes available at all locations.
This “Get the 4th Tyre FREE” offer is not available on any other tyres manufactured or distributed by Bridgestone.
Available at participating Bridgestone Select, Bridgestone Service Centre and Bridgestone Tyre Centre stores.
Subsidiary companies, retailers and agencies of Bridgestone Australia Ltd., are ineligible for “Get the 4th Tyre FREE” offer.
Government, wholesale and fleet customers of Bridgestone Australia Ltd. are ineligible for the “Get the 4th Tyre FREE” offer.
Eligible customers will receive the 4th tyre free off the invoice at the time of purchase.
This promotion cannot be combined with any other offer including, but not limited to motoring club discounts, VIP card programs and all other promotions.
The promoter’s decision on all matters relating to this “Save More on Four, Buy 3 and get the 4th for $10” Offer is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
Bridgestone privacy policy is available here.

Thanks. Just in time to replace my car tyres.

  • +5

Great deal. I wish they would have specials on Duelers sometimes.

  • Im about to buy 4 tyres on tuesday what do these currently cost? Im after 235x55x18.even with one free probably still too much?

    • Mine below were 225 45 17

    • Same!!! Subaru Tribeca? Which tyres are suitable from bridgestone in that size for SUV? Heard the Turanza are only ok…. I wouldnt be putting potenza on an SUV though

  • +3

Honestly not that cheap. They definately price to the deal. 4 Serenity Plus were going to cost me 585. Maybe if you shop around can get a deal.

    • +4

This deal is a complete and utter scam. You can call before, during and after the promotion and be quoted exactly the same price.

If you question it they just say they gave you "the best price".

    • +1

Yep that's what my issue is with the deal. In my area, they charge retail on the 3 tyres which works out to be the same as their lowest price on 4. I predicted this deal would be run again but bought my Michelin Pilot Sport 3's last week and got them at an extremely good price, and $100 eftpos card, tyre shops don't mind either because they don't have to deal with the eftpos cards sent directly from Michelin.

    • yep, scam. No-one should pay full price for tyres. You'll typically get 4 for the full retail recommended price of about 3 anyways.

    • +1

i was at jax yesterday and was looking at their prices online a few days ago and bridgestone ecopias were $109 in the size i needed, on their website.
Asked about them and was told out of stock until today arvo and was told about this deal, and quoted $462 for 4 tyres inc. allignment (3x129 + 75 allignment)
They are now listed at $129 each.
At regular price, they would cost about $510 (4x109 + 75) so while you never get the 4th tyre "free" it is still cheaper.

  • +1

    will costco have this deal?

    • Costco is running $70 off a set of 4 / $100 off for SUV

    • +2

cost had a similar deal with potenza back in Nov/Dec

    • +3

A note about Costco (at least in Adelaide): They don't have the equipment to balance or align the new tires. I was annoyed when I found this out after booking my car in for a new set of RE03s in December.

I had to go to another tire dealer to get this work done, and put up with the owner's scowl when he asked me why I didn't just buy the tires at his place.

      • yeh true and they give u nitrogen. that's annoying too

      • +2

They should have wheel balancing. But no wheel alignment. Maybe they forget to do that

      • +1

I'm 99% sure the Moorabbin Costco provides balace and alignment when you get their tyres fitted as well as free rotation for life.

        • Costco Ringwood balance but don't align as the equipment to do so is expensive and not profitable for them I was told when I was in there last. They offer free rotation & balance and puncture repair for the life of the tyres however. The alignment was easy to get done at Kmart Tyre & Auto.

        • Sorry a noob question - how often should a car have the wheels balanced/rotated?our car is still under manufacturer warranty and we go back to the dealer for servicing. Would these be done at servicing? Or should we get that done every X months outside?

        • @homersyd: I'm not an expert but I'm not sure that's something that would be done at servicing, perhaps give the dealership a ring. As a general rule tyres should be rotated/balanced every 10,000 km but depending on conditions of driving and the tyres, it might be necessary to do it earlier if there is uneven wear etc.

        • -1

          @carlenet:

Ah cool so you buy their tyres and they wear prematurely because they're too tight to buy the right gear / rolleyes

        • @carlenet: Alignment is always a paid option. It costs around $75 at any of the tyre shops here in WA. You may find some cheaper options in Vic but I doubt anyone competitive would do it for free.

        • @ddaus:

          $70 sounds steep, i usually pay $35-40 @ Bridgestone

  • +1

For those shopping around check out KTAS. They guarantee to beat any competitors price.

    • +1

+1 for this. I was very happy with the price i got my duellers at in Sydney (Pennant Hills) even though they had to order them in. Worth ringing around different branches if you don't feel they are beating the price.

    • -1

It is also true that they may even beat it by $1 because of the policy in place. I was told this by KTAS in West Perth, WA recently.

      • My local KTAS generally beats the price by $5 per tyre

  • +2

I have never not seen tyre retailers offering buy three get the fourth free.

    • +1

      What are you talking about?

      • +6

Have you ever seen a rug at full price?

        • +1

I saw a Mattress sale once

        • Have you ever seen a rug at full price?

No, but why is that relevant to this deal?

Retailers won't offer one tyre free, but that doesn't mean they might be cheaper, nor that they might not be cheaper than this deal.

"Buy 3 and get 1 free" is effectively a 25% discount.

If you could get 4 x Bridgestone tyres cheaper than that from a retailer, then you obviously wouldn't buy at a higher price using this deal.

It's only the invoice total that matters, not the "wording of the deal".

        • @llama: The point OP is making is that "Buy 3 get 4th free" is a standard way of selling tyres - it's not new or worthy of this site.

        • -1

          @bluesix:

The point OP is making is

Which OP - 'dennis.s.s' (deal) or 'mr fox' (comment)?

that "Buy 3 get 4th free" is a standard way of selling tyres

Well, 'mr fox' decided to use a double-negative comment, which makes it confusing to read:

"I have never not seen tyre retailers offering buy three get the fourth free."

However the comment doesn't make sense anyway, since plenty of tyre retailers offer discounts in other ways.

The description in the OP specifically states where the offer is available, and it's not for Bridgestone's retailers. However, some of them may or may not decide to copy it - who knows?

The Deal's OP also clearly suggested that buyers should shop around with other tyre retailers/sellers, since there may be a better overall deal available by paying a discounted price for four, instead of this "4th one free" deal.

it's not new or worthy of this site.

That definitely doesn't make sense. This site is absolutely chocka-block full of all kinds of deals including discounts, bonus items, coupon codes, special offers, gift with purchase and all manner of other incentives. NONE of those things are new either, yet all are worthy of this site.

    • +3

Sure, there are always 4 for 3 deals going on, but it's a bigger deal when it includes RE003's. Up until recently, the deal only applied to economy and comfort tyres, which are generally pretty cheap anyway, not performance tyres. Other suppliers generally offer this kind of deal as well, but also on the cheaper tyre ranges too.

  • I just called a Canberra store to find out prices.. seems the Adrenalin RE003 are not in stock in the warehouse. So you may find a wait.

  • Guys, I currently have Bridgestone ER30 on my honda civic (stock tyres), nearly at 40k, is it a good time to replace?

Also what's a good tyre in terms of comfort, quietness and fuel economy?

    • +4

nearly at 40k, is it a good time to replace?

None of us here on the internet can physically see your tyres, so why don't YOU go and check them yourself?

Most people replace tyres when they are sufficiently worn. It's a bit of a waste of money to replace them too early, but then again they might do so to upgrade to a higher spec tyre. So if you would like to get some new tyres, then go ahead.

    • +9

The tyres have a tyre wear indicator on them. The easiest way to see this is to turn your steering wheel full lock in one direction so you can see across the tread of your tyres.
The tyre wear indicator is often highlighted by a marker on the side of the tyre (the side wall); normally a small arrow or triangle, pointing out towards the tread. Follow this arrow and you should see a line of rubber running across the width of the tyre - this is the tread wear indicator.
You should have more than a couple of mm of depth between the tread wear indicator and the top of your actual tyre tread.

      Here's some examples.

Note: This doesn't account for uneven tread wear due to poor wheel alignment or other damage.

If you are unsure, drive in to a tyre shop and ask them.

      • Thanks guys, will look into my tyres this weekend

  • I bought some serenity plus last year, fantastic tyres would recommend

  • Hi guys,
I have never replaced car tyres before. I have a Camry
Which tyres do you guys recommend from the three categories

    • For your Camry - Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus
The Potenzas are more for performance vehicles… or performance driving.

      • thanks - Turanza Serenity Plus is that the top of the range from the 3 mentioned categories?

    • Potenza, dad has them on his Aurion and can highly recommend. Never hurts to go a step up for safety.

    • I bought the full set of serenity plus on the last 4 for 3 deal (early Jan) for my camry altise 2003 and they have been good. No complaint from me so far.

I got the 4 tyres fitted + all wheel alignments =$400 at Bridgestone in Kingsford NSW.

  • Compare the price before you buy. BridgestoneTyres price is $10 more for Ecopia and Potenza and $20 more for Serenity per tyre than Jax Tyres in Canberra

  • Shop in Philip quoted $300 for four supercats 185/70/14. They have a good free 5K balance and rotate offer also, which is good.

  • +1

Just a word of warning from someone who got burnt from this a couple of promos ago. Went to buy a full set of RE003, they only had the fronts, the rear tyres weren't in stock AUS wide. The fronts were already showing threads had to replace. Waited for the rear set to arrive into the country all from a Bridgestone store & State office Silverwater. When the rears finally came in I did not qualify for the promo as they need to be on the same invoice!
When I asked for consideration/please explain in writing they said tough, and only would provide a $100 voucher on my next set of tyres…

Long story short it only works if all 4 are in stock on the same invoice!

    • Huh? I'm not sure this is applicable to 99% of people here, who get the same tyre for all four tyres, front and back? How the heck can front tyres be in stock, but not the rears, when they are the same tyre. Unless you're getting staggered sizes (wider at the back), which is there that 99% figure came from - most people don't do that, and have the same tyre, and same size, front and back.

      • +2

Sounds like you have already figured out he runs staggered tyres.

      • Yes you are right. These are performance tyres + RFT on a BMW I had. Rears are wider for rear wheel drive for traction. Combination of tyre size & RFT got me.

Like I said a word of warning, not all cars are the same and you are right, but performance based tyres like Potenza RE003 not as plentiful in certain sizes particularly with RFT based on the experience I had. It took 6 weeks for the rears to come from overseas.

Replacement car does not need RFT's now.

        • That's why you call the tyre place beforehand to check their available sizes. Last time I got my RE003 done, I called 3 different garages to confirm availability.

      • -1

Any car worth more than $50K will have wider rears.

    • Kmart tyre and auto honoured an expired sale price on tyres - I had booked the car in while the sale was on. No drama whatsoever.

    • That doesn't sound right. I would not have accepted that. If you put in the order during the promo time, you should be eligible.

  • Anyone use R003's? I got a quote for $215 each for my particular car, so $645 all up (since the 4th tyres is free).

    • I'm using the RE002's and I've been told the RE003's are a lot better. The RE002's have been awesome though, so I can only imagine the 3's would be worth every cent! I'd be jumping on a set if I didn't grab the 2's a couple of weeks back.

      • Had RE002's as road tyres / warm up tyres on my tarmac rally car. They were borderline acceptable.
Replaced them with a set of RE003's as I got them for a good price, SIGNIFICANT improvement over the RE002's.

    • Costco Sell car tyre as well and they may honor the sale price which they sell tyre cheaper , worth a try

      • Crossroads Costco won't price match even the price of JAX online, and if you negotiate at JAX you can usually get another 10% (or more) off each tyre from their website price.

I think Costco is really missing out on a massive market share by not price matching and taking part in these deals. Makes me think even the manufacturers don't like them and are selling grey imports.

    • +1

Damn it! I could have saved 300$!
The new R003's feel amazing. Don't know if anyone cares but they have slightly ugly rounded looking sidewalls/outer tread and very little rim protecton. Not as nice to look at as a chunky rim protector and squarer sidewalls IMHO :D

    • Ended up booking the car in, it was $645 all up plus the wheel alignment on top (which was standard price). So the tyres ended up being $161 each for the RE003's (245/45/17 for an FG falcon).

    • I have RE003s on my car, and they're quiet, grippy, and generally much more pleasant than the Supercats I had before. The only negative is my fuel consumption went up by several percent after installing them. Maybe that's due to the extra grip, or perhaps because I'm now not feathering the throttle as much to avoid losing traction. Supercats are so bad they shouldn't be sold at Bridgestone stores.

    • i got 4 RE003 fitted in the last special, around December 3 for 4. $600 all up for 225/45/17, ride is smoother and havnt had to test them yet tho

    • I paid $159 per tyre (4th free) including fitting and balancing (excluding alignment) for 215/60R16 in November. Alignment (front and rear) was an extra $75.

  • Can highly recommend the Serenity Plus that I picked up in the last 4 for 3 deal.
Have them on my 2004 BA Ford Wagon and done ~7000km so far (215/60/16).
Quiet, grippy in wet and dry, and wearing well.
Bridgestone also do free rotation and balance for life of tyres, unlike others who typically only provide a discounted price.

    • I had a look at Serenity + recently and the sample I saw had Treadwear Rating of 600 which is very high, compared to many that are between 200 to 300. Unfortunately, the range didn't have my car's size. I sure don't mind trying this tyre.

    • How much did you pay for them?

      • $400 for the four.
But I think I was just very lucky to get them for that.
I got a quote from the same place on 2 different occassions, first quote was $480, and the second $400!

  • I run 215/45/17 RE003 on my Toyota 86. Got them last time the 3 for 1 deal was around and paid under $600 all up with an alignment. Think I was quoted $175 per corner.

Much better performance than stock (it's like night and day). My main concern was road noise and it's as quiet as the stock tyres.

  • So that's how they sell them. People who have no idea and can't research for themselves.

  • i am looking for tyres for mazda 3 size 195/65/15. bridgestone store quoted $159 each for Turanza Serenity Plus, is this a good deal? or should i look for cheaper ecopia range.

    • I purchased Turanza Serenity Plus for our Corolla in Oct last year in the same size 195/65/15 & paid $129 for 3 (received 4th for free). In fact, we also managed to squeeze a lifetime alignment purchase for $100 extra though this wasn't needed for the tyre deal. Purchased from Bridgestone Select Cheltenham and I highly recommend them.

  • The only buy 3 get 1 free that's comes up on this offer in my tyre size is :

    Bridgestone Ecopia H/T EP850

Are these any good what they normally prices at?

    • Are ecopia tyres any good im quoted $399 each at my local??
Im away to get kumho 51 fitted tomorrow

  • Great, was waiting for a deal like this. Drifting on balds is great, but winter is coming.

    • but winter is coming.

I see what you did there…

Holding out for Game of Thrones?

      • +1

        Uhm…. pun not intended? :)
I really should start watching GoT…. I'm missing out it seems.

        • You are! Give it a whirl

      • Today I learned: Game of Thrones invented winter!

        :)

  • +1

Using RE003 235/40/R18 on my fronts - very good tyre and good road noise supression. Steering feels more direct. If your tyres are normally 225 get in quick as this size is more common and stock tends to run out quick which I found out in last deal. 235's were alot cheaper with plenty in stock then.

  • Phoned up local K-mart Tyre and Auto service for quote on tyres, because they are closest. They said "just go and get a quote from someone and then we'll beat it". I wasn't even trying to pricebeat, I just wanted them to sell me tyres. What kind of world we live in where people are so scared to give you a price out of fear you'll take it elsewhere to pricebeat? Don't get me wrong, I love pricebeating, but c'mon!

    • +1

      basically put
      i CBF giving you a quote…

    • +1

Get a qoute from somewhere else, reduce the price yourself by a bit and them tell them they offered it to you for that. See if they're bothered enough to check lol, otherwise you get a set of cheap tires.

    • +1

Lol you should've said 'No, give me a quote then I'll take it elsewhere and beat it'

  • +1

Here's a useful guide to tyres….. also, I always check the Treadwear Rating (see article) in addition to the other details….

        • Thanks mate for the info.

  • Only needed 3 as 1 was repaired from an accident. Any suggestions on what to do or should i just forget about this deal as not worth the trouble keeping the 4th as spare. Thanks.

  • "The promoter’s decision on all matters relating to this “Save More on Four, Buy 3 and get the 4th for $10” Offer is final, and no correspondence will be entered into."

Can't even cut and paste into their own T&Cs properly :-)

    • -1

      Hi Mic Cullen,
What size of tyres did you get for your car? Thanks

  • Got quoted 285 at Bob Jane, 327 at Bridgestone (lol keep dreaming). Went to K Mart and the dude said he'd do 260 inc the valves, fitting and disposal of the old tyres. Solid. Booked it in on the spot. I don't think you could get a full set of Ecopias for cheaper than 260, pretty happy.

    • if you went back to Bob Jane you would've saved even more. They have a price match guarantee.

      • +1

Do they price match based on other price matches though? I'll call up and find out, and will post with results! Love a good bargain.

  • Anyone have experienced with tyresales.com.au?

  • Has anyone else been told that the Serentity Plus is out of stock?

I put in for a quote on the Bridgestone website and got a call back saying that they were out of stock (maybe for my size?)

They offered the Ecopia 150s instead @ $215 or $220 each and the 4th tyre free - he claimed they were a better tyre and that this tyre wasn't part of the original deal.
