Xiaomi Redmi 3 (5", Snapdragon 616, 2GB RAM, LTE, 4100 mAh) US $135.99 (AU $191) @ Everbuying

151
Redmi3Gray

I was talking to Everbuying about a good deal on a Xiaomi phone, and they created a coupon to sell this phone at the lowest available price of $135.99 USD (please switch currency to USD to avoid bad conversion rate, and disable insurance during checkout). Expedited shipping is $5 USD extra.

This phone is not full-HD, but a 294 ppi pixel density is very decent. Reviews suggest the screen is crisp in appearance. This phone is good for people who prefer something more compact than the "Note" versions, and with longer battery life (4100 mAh).

Full Specs:

  • Display: 5.0 inch 1280 x 720 HD Screen
  • CPU: Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 Octa Core 4 x 1.5GHz + 4 x 1.2GHz
  • GPU: Adreno 405
  • System: Android 5.1
  • RAM + ROM: 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM
  • Camera: 5.0MP front camera + 13.0MP rear camera with auto focus and flashlight
  • Sensor: Light sensor, G-sensor, Proximity sensor, E-compass
  • Feature: GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS
  • Bluetooth: 4.1
  • SIM Card: Dual SIM dual standby. One is Micro SIM card slot, the other is Nano card slot, which can also be used as a TF card slot.
Note: Nano SIM card and TF card cannot be used together, because they share the same space of card slot.
  • Network:
    2G: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz
    3G: WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100MHz
    4G: FDD-LTE 1800/2100/2600MHz

Customer service is shocking with these guys, I also won't buy anything from them ever again.

Bought a note 3, 2 months ago nothing but problems. Sent a couple of emails/messages for RMA, no reply, ignoring me.

Bottom line, I rather pay a bit extra and have service. Also paid extra for quicker shipping 5 days, took 3 weeks to arrive

      • Hi bti_jet,

Sorry for all the inconvenience that we have brought to you.
We are working hard to improve our customer service this year.

If there is anything I can do for you,pls feel free to let me know.

        • how about refunding me for the phone, i'm still having problems with it.

What can you do for these angry customers? Rather than saying Have a great day?

  • How can the display be crisp if no Full HD?

    • +2

It's one of those mysteries, maybe you can solve it?

      • Even my Samsung s5 is fhd ……it's one of the reasons for buying these cheap Chinese phones with limited bands…..is to get cheap fhd screens.

    • Ask these guys
      It's still "retina".

      • is that because you use your retina to view it?

    • +3

Screen experts (aka Apple) say that with any screen around the 300dpi, a person is unable to discern the individual pixels at a normal viewing distance. Therefore, with smaller screens, full HD isn't a necessity, in theory.

    • 720p on a 5 inch looks good, you'll be surprised. PS this phone gets 11+ hours of screen on time, what an achievement in a tiny 5 inch form factor, having 4100mah!

Bought a Redmi Note 2 from Everbuying and even after loading a global MIUI Rom I cannot save anything on the external sd card.

Tried several methods to root the phone to overcome this problem all to no avail.

    Very disappointing and totally unsatisfied.

If you advertise a phone with external sd cards we should be able to actually use the sd card.

Does the store rep have a solution?

    • Hi hello007,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused by the phone.

Could you pls PM me your order number checking?

I know nothing about the phone, but I can confirm this with our products department,if they cant solve this, they also could ask supplier about it.

      Thank you!

      Becky

      • Have messaged you the order number thanks.

Looking forward to posting your workable solution here.

    • +2

      Check card size ……max 32g.

    • Once you root through phone support is gone.

      • +1

reflash stock rom and support is back, its not a samsung, doesnt have a flash counter thingy

  • Does anyone know of any "Australian" stores that stock this phone (eg. eglobal, Kogan etc…)?

    • +1

"Australian" meaning what? The ones you mentioned sell overseas phones from an overseas warehouse. Xiaomi does not have stores in Australia.
Which problem are you trying to circumvent?

      • +4

Probably the one where you wait 2 months for delivery via oceanic turtle mail if you're not willing to shell out for DHL.

        • And yes, this one :)

      • +1

Oh, I'm just wanting a store which is somewhat based here because I've had better experience ordering from those kind of stores (ie. Kogan and Eglobal have both express shipped items in good time to me). Would this be the same as ordering from everbuying with expedited?

        • Everbuying offers "express" (expedited) for $5 USD. But there is still the handling time. But it should shorten the wait by a couple of weeks, in my experience.

        • @Make it so:

Ah alright, thanks for that info. Do you know roughly how long total time from order to receiving it would be normally with expedited (quite tempted on the price of this one)?

        • @frogduck: Best to PM the Everbuying REP on that one, if she does not see your query here.

        • +1

          @frogduck:

          Hi frogduck,

I have just checked that this phone still have 100 stock left, and another 200 stock will back this week.
as long as we have stock, the shipment shall be very fast.
You also could PM me your order number for fast processing if you need that.

          Hope this could help you.

          Have a grea day!

I wonder if Everbuying is the same as Gearbest (who have been banned from this site), maybe just another brand name for them: Have a look at the Domain Details, they are the same and the IP address of their servers are at the same location. So if it "walks like a duck…." etc. I would suggest that one be very careful in dealing with Everbuying, as you might be scammed as some where with Gearbest, I would be happy if someone could correct me on this. It is interesting that there is a whole range of domains at this location another is dealsmachine.com See: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/forum/gearbest.com

Returns Address: for GearBest Room 302, 3rd Floor, Building 8, Zhongxing Industrial City, Chuangye Road, Nanshan District, Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, 518054, China

    • Geez that does look fishy..lets see what the Everbuying "Rep" has to say about this.

    • "Returns Address: for GearBest Room 302, 3rd Floor, Building 8, Zhongxing Industrial City, Chuangye Road, Nanshan District, Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, 518054, China

Returns Address: for Everbuying.net Room 201, 2rd Floor, Building 8, Zhongxing Industrial City, Chuangye Road, Nanshan District, Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, 518054, China"

Ones Room 302 and the other is Room 201 obviously difference sweat shops so I think no issues here. I ordered one anyway so will keep you guys posted if everything is ok.

You just saved me some money.

for what it's worth, never had a problem with gearbest or everbuying, been buying from them for years.

      • Likewise. I do not dispute what others are saying, and know there is room for improvement. Everbuying knows it too, and are trying. But as a general rule you don't hear from those people who had positive experiences.

      • Same for me never a problem with gear best.

      • i've had problems with both GB and EB.

        I'm sure others have also

  • Buyers might want to check the 3G bands; I see most sites do not list 900MHz for this phone. (So limited to Telstra and maybe Vodafone.) But there are often a few variants of Chinese phone models, it could be OK.

    • But all three networks have 2100MHz 3G, which this phone is compatible with so should be fine in metro areas.

      • -1

This is HD phone not fhd and there are lots of sub $200 phones that even have full 4G coverage from Australia retailers it's the fhd phones we still get ripped off on not hd we dont have sub $200 fhd phones in aust market with 4g.

  • I have bought from Gearbest and Everbuying many times and the only issue I had with Gearbest was slow shipment( no stock). I bought a Teclast Tpad from Everbuying and a Gionee E7 from Gearbest

  • Having some issues once I've entered the code. It says US$135.99, then when I proceed to checkout (both regular and paypal) it comes up as US$148.69. I've got Flat Rate Shipping with the insurance option UNchecked as the post mentions. Any ideas whats causing this?

    • Maybe flat rate is not available where you live? Apparently remote areas need the "standard shipping" which costs more.

    • Hi nedkelly,

Thank you for your kind support.
Could you pls PM me your Everbuying account for checking?

      Thank you!

      Becky

  • Perfect, all working now :)

    Thanks for that!
