Tell us how you go trying to squeeze desktop ram into a laptop ;)

This is desktop ram ..the L50 takes DDR3L 1600 204pin.

    • No, you will need SoDIMM.

  • any deals on DDR3? :)

  • Received the 4 sticks RAM I ordered, but it's not working with a Gigabyte GA-X99-SLI with 5820K. The motherboard turns on and off repeatedly on a ~2-second cycle. No POST or anything. Other sticks of RAM work fine.

It's quite uncommon for RAM that's within spec to be unsupported by a desktop board nowadays. Has anyone else encountered such behavior?

The one Netplus sells is single-ranked, the dual-ranked version is on the motherboard's QVL. I wouldn't expect rank to matter with just 4 sticks though. The NetPlus page also specifies it's for X99 motherboards.

  • Paid early hours of 1st March still have not received my order & they are not answering the phone after 3 attempts.

    • Supatight, please "loosen" up a bit :) We are in Perth, WA. We had a public holiday yesterday and our opening hours are 9.30am - 5.30pm WST.

      • I admit I didn't factor in WA time difference but postage should not take this long. I paid in the early hours on the 1st March Westpac to Westpac direct deposit, it is now 8th & still nothing. It is fine I was able to get a hold of you, as discussed should be delivered in next day or two. I hope so anyway.
