  • This soundbar is junk. I bought one at the recent Sony sale and the power is very limited. My 55" TV's sound was better so back it went to Sony

    • And then Sony has too many of them returned, and offloaded to target hence the special.

    • How long did you wait to return it? i agree with what you're saying.
I bought mine from the last sale.

      • As soon as I connected it up, I could tell that it had very very average volume and sound quality. Sure it's better than a small TVs speakers but only marginally. Forget it if you have a larger than 40 inch. Don't even get me started on trying to get a refund from Sony Aus. Total PITA.

        • Reckon i could somehow get a refund now?

    • I bought this during the Xmas sales for an old 40" LCD TV on the premise it was an entry soundbar. Going from TV speakers, I was very pleased especially with Bluetooth functionality as we can pair mobile devices with music player without turning on the TV or connected device now.

  • +1

I bought one in the last sale
Much better than tv speakers and clear
Will you get twice the sound for twice the money, I would think so but if that's all you have to spend and are only looking to hear voices clearer and improve volume a bit
New models come out in April so sure to be good bargains in the next month or so

    • Grabbed one of these for the kids play room TV, not too bad for the price. Would never pay more than this though. Decent sound for a $150 Soundbar, subwoofer does a good Job considering the price too.

    • At $90 it is pretty awesome value. Dunno if I would pay $150 for it though.

  • Personally I cannot see the point of these silly "sound bars". Relatively expensive, and they sound pretty crap

Why not just buy a decent set of speakers?

    • Space saving.

      • You could save even more space (not to mention money) by just using your TV speakers if you just want crappy sound.

      • Space saving

A decent set of speakers is heaps smaller than one of these ugly things.

        • A pair of Volls are cheaper and smaller. Perhaps sound better too (though passive - not active).

  • You will need an amp for the speakers? Amps can cost several hundred…

    • Amplified speakers, exactly like the amplified Soundbar. Extremely common, for example used for computers.

      • Duly noted for my next theatre :)

  • I also have this - great for a $150 Sound bar - and better than my Panasonic TV Speakers with Speech while Music is going - also the Night Option really brings speech out without the background noise

Also great for balls out noise with Sub

. would have been nice to have onscreen info
. cut out used to be annoying but mine somehow doesn't happen anymore
. hard to know what sound option you are on , then there is a nano second pause between switch to different options( Night, Clear Voice, Surround etc.)
