Feral Sly Fox Summer Ale $10 4-Pack, Platinum Blonde $32 24-Pack @ Dan Murphy's

70

Nice drop at a good price. 4 beers for $10 isn't something everyone will get on board with, but if your significant other complains about you wasting money on piss you can always buy the Platinum Blonde's and and hide the Sly Foxes at the back.

This is the MyDanMurphys offer for March btw.

I'd say spending $32 on Platinum blonde is the definition of 'wasting money on piss'….

  • very nice deal… tho as always case is cheapest way to buy beer.. now if they could just do a similar sale on feral hop hog :)

It's 4 pack not 6 pack, and probably 330ml not 375 or 500ml. always makes me wonder how they try to add mystique through branding when these beers are made in industrial estates ….at least wine makers can add a nice adress and pictures of vineyards and use the word terroir.
Good Ozbargainer buy by the slab to save.

In their defense, they do call it feral.

      who cares where it's made..
As long as those brewing it are interested in delivering the best quality product and expanding the options in the market from New, XXXX and VB then I'm all for it

The craft beer market in the states is booming, and I hope ours continues to improve

I agree, just because it is made by a big brewer, doesn't mean it can't be a good beer. My all time favourite domestic beer is Southwark Stout. One of the biggies own it.

That said, I'm disappointed by these offers of late. Feral is a brewer I just won't support as I've had an utter gutful of dilution of beer from what it was (and stuff like Southwark Stout still is) to what they produce. Eg 5% and over, 375ml bottles, carton of 24 down to a "carton" of 16 330ml bottles of sub 5% beer. It is an insult the "carton" price of that beer is around $60 for 16 bottles. Particularly when you have to pay for shipping. They don't care that the carton is 2/3rds of a carton, you pay the same price as for a full carton of beer.

news story showing them ramping up production for this promo

These are the kind of beer promos I would prefer to see Dan Murphys running, promoting local brewers rather than some of the generic crappy $10 and $12 deals of the last few momnths..

    • Thanks for the heads up. Local brewers need all the help they can get- looking forward to trying it.

  • I had thought Feral was just another Swan Valley tourist trap.
Its good to see they are trying to make it into a real brewery, though I suppose if successful, it will be bought out by a foreign multinational, just like all the others were, and production moved to some eastern-states industrial hole.

    Meanwhile, bottoms up.

make your own with raw sugar
    Just $7 a carton
    It's too easy

    • no.

    • if only we all had no tastebuds then maybe that would work…

Sadly, I don't think the Sly Fox is anything special. Feral make some damn good beers but I find the Sly Fox a bit nothing really.

  • I really enjoyed the Sly Fox last night. It was uncomfortable weather and this summer ale definitely helped. I like the labels and how they feel.. feelsgoodman
