That's actually really expensive. Go to kmart, bbq galore, bunnings and find an equivalent for nowhere near the price.

an equivalent is that price $6995 at BBQ galore

  • Price?

  • its actually a BBQ's Galore BBQ

  • the rrp is 6999 wow price is 1699, trying to imagine being able to afford the rrp for that bbq :)

  • Jesus, I don't think I could fit a 6 burner, plus I already have an awesome 3 burner… But damn if my finger ain't hovering over the bite me button.

  • I bought a great 4 burner from Big W for under a hundred bucks 3 yrs ago and its still goin strong. Never will understand why people spend so much on these things except that they look good and you can cook a chook which my oven does anyway.

    Ebay has comparable units for $795 buy-it-now plus $134 shipping = $829. This unit is $1699 plus $100 shipping = $1799.

Cheaper by $970 to buy from Ebay.

    Crap deal!

    • yeah, i brought the ebay one for just over $500 delivered at auction. Was a bit worried at first but once it arrived i was happily supprised. well worth the $$$ , i've had it for a couple of years now and still like new even though it sits outside under the side of the house :)

    • Innapropriate -ve lets compare a porsche with a daihatsu

this item is $6995 at bbq galore http://www.barbequesgalore.com.au/products/product-view.aspx…

need to compare apples with apples

      • A porsche/daihatsu comparison is inappropriate as those cars are completely different in almost every way, while the 2 bbqs are almost identical in features and differ only in looks - as do high end sports cars.

I wrote that Ebay has comparable units - and I stand by my comment. They are full stainless, have side burner, infra-red heater, 240V rotisserie, temperature gauge. I even included a picture to make it easy for you to compare the units.

Instead of making blanket, throwaway comments asserting that the units are so different, would you care to outline HOW they are different?

4 negative votes to me for pointing out this is a crap deal? ROFL. Hmm, guess who voted -ve. People who got ripped $970! For the extra $970, you'd be able to organise your own personal chef to come and cook for you @ $50 per hour - almost 20 hours! Happy cooking suckers!

  • there is no price in the title or the description

  • PRICE ON TITLE!

Unfortunately, I bought this BBQ and it was a cheap Chinese copy so shame on you Catch of the Day. Had a true value of approx. $1,500….That also refused to deliver to my house so cost me $150 to get it in the front door. Still battling for a refund.

I also bought this BBQ, they delivered an incorrect BBQ. I am waiting for COTD to pick up the incorrect BBQ. The no brand Chinese BBQ they delivered is exactly the same as this one: http://www.graysonline.com/Lot.aspx?id=4410751.

  • BBQ has been picked up and refund processed for BBQ and delivery only. Still trying to recover my out of pocket expenses. Spoke to the office of Fair Trading and they recommend lodging a formal complaint for recovery. Probably have to choice but to do this.

    • I notified COTD on April 8 about the incorrect BBQ supplied. On April 9, 'Nick' of COTD replied acknowledging the error "Apologies for the late reply regarding this issue with the incorrect BBQ being delivered. Unfortunately we don't have the correct model available for shipment. I will be organising a courier service Monday with the supplier for pick up and you will be processed a full refund"

Further emails were exchanged on 12,14,15,16,21 and 30 April. The supplier, COTD, has not made good on its promise to collect the incorrect item and process the refund.

It has been now more than 3 weeks since they have been notified, no pick up has been organised. 'Catch of the day' kept on saying "We are currently organising a pick for the incorrect unit". I have no confidence that 'Catch of the Day' will make good on their latest commitment.

Did you lodge a formal complaint with Fair Trading?
