  • Good price for a great tv, bought mine for 2200 back in january and love it.

  • great price and you get a free blu ray player

Great price for a fantastic TV, my aunt bought one late last year and it was about 2600 street price then, with a camera thrown in.

  • No more Free Blue Ray Players…Finished today!!! Doesn't the Blacks turn to Dark Grey after 1000 hours?

    • At least they run for 1000 hrs without failing!!!!. Got my Pana plasma 42" 3 yrs ago… still beautiful to watch. Always best to buy quality with these things.

  • The 2009 Panasonics do have a cloud over them with fading blacks @ 1000 hours…But the V series is a wonderful TV, if we had a DJs in town, I'd be handing over 1999…Cheapest I've seen it is 2450…

Yes i agree it looks stunning…BUT there going very cheap for a reason, Panasonic are giving the Blue Ray Player as part compensation for the issue, as the fading blacks are due to a voltage change at 1000hours.
Very smart marketing by Panasonic i must say.
No other manufacturer is giving away any freebies atm and selling FULL HD TV's for so cheap.

    • At HN today they had a sign up saying the Panny free BluRay deal may finish early, and suggested calling Panasonic to see if there are BluRay players left…

      Customxxx….
Where did you get this information???… at the local pub??

  • had mine for over 1000 hours no fading blacks, so far affected minimal amount of people and only reported in US no one on dtv or whirpool has experienced it

    • Wow what a way to stereotype people! What about those of us who actually have the money, and enjoy the finer things in life? I'm on a six-figure salary, and can pretty much buy whatever I want - didn't buy this though, I already have a 46" sony in the lounge room and a 40" samsung in the bedroom, which is enough for me. Doesn't mean I don't actually go outside and enjoy life though…

That is not a valid reason for a negative vote. Therefore your vote has been retracted.

Please have a look at deal posting guidelines/speak to mods if you have issues.

  • Dude, this place is to inform people about bargains and in this case the full HD tv.

Bring your comments about "life" to an appropriate forum.

IMHO to assume that all people who buy good/cheap tv don't have a life outside is a false logic.

Wow, gloat much? Somehow I doubt a "real" six-figure earning person would go on a site like this.

    • +4

Haha, you'd be suprised! Some rich people are so tight it's unbelievable. I guess being careful with money is one way to build it up.

    • +4

      you would be surprised.

usually 6 figure people are very cautious with their money. It's just celebrities who waste their money

    • +3

I know when I'm earning 6 digits I'll still be coming here :)

    • Earning large amounts of money means you tend to be smart with it. So while I'm sure there are plenty of tightasses here, I'm sure there are plenty of others with cash and enjoy the community (most of the time) as well as finding a few things to buy. It's skewed logic to assume otherwise.

  • if ur on a budget

Theres some generic brands.. $799 FULL HD LCD 42" . @ myers

    or $699 PLASMA + HD 42"

    or $499 FULL HD LDC 32" .

    • If you are on a budget it is best to invest in something that will last. El chapos are not such a good deal when they die 1 month out of warranty. Plasma and LCD TV's are not and item to risk quality with unless you are rich enough to replace it when it goes phhfffttt..!!

      • yeah i would never ever buy a soniq/dgtec/tcl product…. dreadful quality, unreliable as all jesus…. save your money for a decent one or you WILL regret it

        • i still got my old 32 inch palsonic tv that i bought since 2003, never got any issue until now.

  • Has anyone actually seen proof of this as I am interested.
But as its mentioned catalogue says one price ($2634) and poster says another ($1999)?
    Big difference in price

    Photo? Receipt?

  • Almost bought this after I saw the price… but then again thanks to the CNET report showing that Panasonic has officially acknowledged the brightness problem I'm interested no more! :( Spending $2000 on a TV with great blacks only to have it a year later degrading into mediocrity, no thanks.
