  • Do you know if this local stock and eligible for TRS?

    • +3

No, its grey import. Expansys is never local stock.

  • Well this site http://mobilemonster.com.au/sell-your-phone/lg/nexus-5-16gb offers 140 / 160 for my phone. So if i do that then I pay 300ish for the 5x.

    • -4

      different ones

      • What do you mean? If i trade mine in i can get this one for around 300

    • Sell it gumtree for $200.

      • You reckon I would get that much. Its in really good nic I must say.

My spigen cover thingy was the best purchase. Will def get another one for my next phone.

        • Is it 32GB or 16GB? If it's in good condition with the original box + cover, it should get ~200, even 16GB probably. SItes like mobilemonster will always pay you less than selling it yourself.

        • @raven2000:

Yeh its 16gb, box in prefect nic. Something to consider thanks for advice.

  • +3

Great find op. The 16gb version is also on sale for $389.99

  • Very tempted! What is the feedback like on this site?

    • +1

and what is the difference to genuine AU stock?

      • Price drop!

Once again I was too fast. I swear it won't happen again.

    • +1

I've bought from them before, 2 different times. Both times, the items were delivered within 3 days of purchase.

      • Cheers. I got delivery in three days as well. Loving the phone.

  • +2

You've been warned. Got burned once, never again

    • im wanting to buy a moto x style from expansys because its so much cheaper than the rest
but saw this site and having second thoughts.
it seems to be hit and miss
did this personally happen to you??

      • Long story short, they sent me the wrong phone, and then wanted me to pay shipping to send it back! I partly blame myself for being naive enough not to sign up with PayPal. I paid with credit card. Took 15 emails and 2 months to get my money refunded including my shipping cost to get it back to them.

  • Will LG Australia look after warranty claims on grey imports? I know that some phone manufacturers don't, but have had other products repaired or replaced under warranty despite being imports.

    • -1

Create your own invoice, just saying :d

      • -2

        that's fraud…

        • +3

Calm down it wasn't meant to be taken seriously.

    • Doesn't look like it. Potentially you'll have to send the phone overseas to a repair centre or ask Expansys.

"This LG manufacturer's warranty only applies to service within Australia (for mobile phones purchased within Australia only) and New Zealand (for mobile phones purchased within New Zealand only). This warranty is not transferable and applies to the original purchaser only. No LG employee, product retailer or Authorised Service Centre has authority to vary the terms of this warranty. Goods presented for repair may be replaced by refurbished goods of the same type rather than being repaired. Refurbished parts may be used to repair the goods."

      http://www.lg.com/au/support/warranty/mobile-phones

      • Most warranties and insurances will have stuff like this in relation to used parts. It's pretty standard.

    • They might charge you for it or do it out of the goodness of their heart. They are under no obligation to do it.

    • +2

That's the HK version. No LTE bands 5 or 28.

      • sorry dont have much info on lte bands. does it mean that it will not support lte networks in australia

        • Partial support for the HK edition.

It means that the phone on the most part will work fine.

It supports enough of the bands to work smoothly.

Only problem is that it will not be on LTE as freqently without all the bands. Thus it might not connect to LTE even if there is an LTE signal present.

Band 28 and Band 5 are good at covering blackspots such as buildings or rural areas.

I would get the Nexus 5X Australian (Rest of the World) because these two frequencies are very important to getting consistant speeds and reception.

  • Any know if this is this new stock or B-stock / opened-box?

  • Whilst the deal is good, the mobile is unfortunately not as good as it should be. Forced encryption slows the mobile down at times, and the camera is often slow to take pictures or freezes completely due to not being able to handle HDR+.

If you aren't a heavy mobile user and don't take too many pictures, you should be fine. I was however fed up after a month, so returned it and paid extra for the Note 5.

  • Damn it!

I just bought one from Clove for $520 delivered… ergh

  • +2

    Down to $425 now!

    • Thanks updated the OP.

  • So tempted here…

    So so tempted.

  • Just get the LG G4

  • Bought at new low price :)

    • wanting to get moto x style from expansys, but heard bad things about service
let me know if it goes smoothly please!

  • I get that this is a grey import, but can someone explain to me how it can be a grey import AND an "AU Version"? Isn't that contradictory?

Or is "AU Version" just a sneaky way of saying "it will work in Australia" as opposed to "this is actual legit AU stock"?

    • +1

Yes its the international version that is also the same model that Google sells in Australia. So it supports all LTE frequencies locally. Some versions e.g. HK do not.

      • Ah, thanks for the explanation! Do you know when this sale will end?

  • +1

    Price dropped again,
$414.99 as of 18 March (Saturday)!
I just bought this yesterday!! :(

  • Got mine today. Shipping was very fast ordered on Friday. Definitely AU stock, but mine DOA :( … WI-FI is totally dead. We shal see how hard it is going to be to get it replaced.

    • Mine arrived on Monday as well. Looks all good for now. Haven't swapped sim yet but I just setup wifi and did all the security patches.
Good luck with your RMA, if you bought with PayPal, return shipping should be covered?

      • Yeah after 5 emails in crazy broken English, they have sent me a fedex account code to book it for pickup. Hoping it will all go smoothly!

  • Just ordered one, came to $393 shipped after CR cashback offer.

    • Did your CR track straight away? Mine's stil l not showing, although later purchases from eBay are tracking ok. 7 days not up yet so will wait and watch!

  • Further price drop. Probably the strong ozy dollars.
I have bought the pack that came with the charging cable and screen protection. Also bought the case for it.
