Saw this at Myer Centre mcdonald's in Brisbane, only it was 20 nugs. Every day

nugs?…. we have nuggets here in WA

      • +12

Bro, we didn't choose 'The Nugg Life', The Nugg Life choose us …

  • +2

Yum, I rate KFC nuggets higher though.

    • +12

      no wayyy!! KFC's are soggy

    • +2

I prefer the batter on Maccas nuggets, but sometimes they go stale quick, KFC aren't as good but better consistency in standards in my area

    • +8

I have to agree. Personal preference though I suppose. At least we can all agree that Hungry Jacks nuggets are basically little greasy battered pieces of fat and oil… bleh.

      • +7

I actually liked hungry jacks' old nuggets, they were sort of like fish finger shaped bits of spiced battered chicken but they changed the product a few years back.
Like they weren't objectively better than Mcnuggets, but they were different in a way I liked. It's a damn shame.

        • +1

Their new "chicken fries" are very similar to the old nuggets.

        • I would love to have those old nuggets again, they were awesome

      • OMG yes! Agree!!

        • +2

I love nuggets so here are my recent reviews on the status of the nugget situation.

KFC nuggets win provided you get a good batch and get them on a good day because always seem to have sweet and sour sauce out of stock pretty much every second visit. I like the softness of the outer coating versus overcooked crunchiness (see below)

McD's nuggets are tasty treats however seem to be magically shrinking by the day. Soon they'll disappear all together and you will get a box of hot air. What they do give you also seems to be getting overcooked lately which means they come second to KFC.

Hungry Jacks nuggets are greasy, tasteless and meh. Only when desperate (and drowned in sauce).

        • @sparkles: That's a pretty good review. I agree!!

    anyone confirm in syd?

Anyone confirm in ACT Canberra? :)

    • I just tried Belconnen by the college to no avail.

  • Mcdonalds nuggets are the best!

  • Oh cool, WA missed out when this deal ran last.

  • +2

maccas nuggets are good if you can get them fresh

    • -8

I know what you're saying, but always laugh when people say this, considering they are often 3-6 months old but kept 'fresh' with some really toxic chemicals.

But yeah I know what you mean by fresh, straight out of the fryer because they seem to go off super quick once cooked.

      • +5

you don't eat nuggets to be healthy

      • Curious, what kind of Toxic chemicals are in there?

        • +2

Well not him/her but the only really toxic chemical in them is Tert-Butylhydroquinone, it's used as a preservative in levels that are deemed safe as with every other thing that makes it past every country's food and health safety bureaucracies but it's important to some people to avoid stuff like that for peace of mind.
I just don't like it when they try and force other people to eat like them, it doesn't even make any sense, if we all start eating organic, organic food would become too expensive.
You're better off telling people to eat Mcdonalds unless it's like a messiah complex thing.

        • +2

@Lief1250: there is a very large gap between nuggets and organic.

        • +1

@cryptos: Well you can always just say you were using the chemistry definition of organic.
Even Tert-Butylhydroquinone is organic by that definition.

        • +2

@cryptos: It is important to note not all nuggets are equal. There is chicken breast, then there is some other abhoration of vegetable starch and thickeners with some kind of grey indiscernible meatish thing in the middle.

McDonalds and KFC both use chicken breast. It's pretty much the same as the frozen chicken tenders you see the supermarket but deep fried and has more batter and what not.

        • +2

organic food would become too expensive.

You mean even more expensive than it already is.

        • @Lief1250: Actually if more ppl ate organic it would be cheaper. Prices go down as more demand, its no longer a specialty item

    • -5

totally understand and expect the negs,
      enjoy your nuggets.

      • +6

Probably because your linking the websites of a bunch of crazy fanatics like PETA.

don't want to spoil anyone's appetit

      Proceeds to spoil everyone's appetite…

  • I got 24 nuggets + 2 regular fries at my local Maccas (SA) for $9.95 - the KFC deal has ended so it's not like it's in response to that deal any more either.

The new sweet and sour sauce from China tastes awful, bring back American made sauces. Waiting for the time when we have a hepatitis outbreak or some toxic shit to be in there….

    • Well.. does the ssweet mustard made you pee like a fluoro yellow highlighter still? Its been a while since I played that trick.

      • +1

lol i dont know, i never had anything but sweet and sour sauce, if im at home I usually also have Sriracha or Sweet baby rays.

    • I was wondering about why the sauces taste so different, especially the sweet mustard….also noticed it was made in China. Haven't ordered nuggets ever since…

      • +1

        but did you die?

        • No. Just had an out of body experience.

    • I usually buy McNuggets and pay $.50 extra at KFC to buy the sauce. All the sauces at KFC are made in Australia.

Is this possibly just a deal at one store? I work at a WA McDonald's and it's the first I've heard of this. The fact that it's 24 is weird too, rather than 20. Which store was this found at?

Of course, this wouldn't be the first time they've started a promotion and not told us until the day… I have work in a few hours; I'll see what I can find.

    • +4

Ok, I work at McDonald's Melville, on Leach Highway.
We haven't been given any information about it; it's not in our internal website etc. But there is a new button for it in the nuggets menu of the registers, and my store manager says we can do it. Probably the same for other stores - they should be capable, but most staff won't know about it.

      • Is this actually on? I went to McDonald's Thomson Lake on the weekend and was told there was no such thing T_T

  • pretty sure this is available in QLD as well, as we saw it at a CBD store. Probably trying to match the KFC deal which I think has now expired.

  • +2

This wasn't at Innaloo, WA store today.

  • which store was this at?

  • Anyone can confirm which stores have it?

  • ordered 144pcs for tonight's party

  • Went to Garden City shopping center in QLD and the staff has no idea.

  • Beechboro WA didn't do it this morning.

  • +1
  • They don't have this in Sydney.

  • Livingston store said price error. Crew trainee said they do but senoir guy said no… stds slipping

    • Same with me.

The senior told me it is going to happen but it was not yet in the "modules" (what every that means)
