  Yea it's certainly not "expensive".
  
  If you are feeling a bit adventurous/cheap like me, you could stay in Geylang. I paid $60/night (2 people) to stay there.. and yes it wasn't a high class hotel but it was sufficient and I would say pretty damn comfortable. Not particularly convenient (7 min walk from MRT), but at least there's plenty of cheap food (amongst other things) around Geylang!

    Yeh I think the key to affordable accomodation in Singapore is staying out of the city and catching the MRT in, I made the mistake of just booking somewhere close and was like $230 a night.

Has anyone stayed in this zen rooms chain? The prices are quite good for Singapore. I used Aqueen hotels last time I was there and then another time airbnb - a room without windows or even a fridge (I realised this after buying 2 litres of milk and having to drink it all).
