  • wrong code buddy.

    Code should be: CTECHIE

    • surprisingly I tried C20TECH and it still works :p

  • TCL is no SAMSUNG

    • I have the 1080p version of this TV. Was pleasantly surprised. Don't buy expecting Samsung quality, but they're a pretty decent TV.

Unsure where this sits in the price market. Good price without being an awesome price I think.

Need a 70"+ any good deals?

  • I'd strongly suggest anyone interested in buying this TV read the thread over at Whirlpool that covers the 55" and 65" models

    https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2443306

In summary. This TV doesn't support HDMI 2.0 (60fps) even though it says it does. It also takes forever to turn on, and the smart tv are utter junk… Oh and the remote is terrible.

    • Although I'm very happy with mine, you're bang on about it taking ages to turn on - and in doing so it blasts your retinas with a full white screen. At night time it's painful (you learn to look away after hitting the power button). Can't comment on Smart TV as I've always had 3rd party devices for that.

Interestingly I didn't mind the remote! My 3yo dunked it in water and killed it though - replaced with a Logitech Universal.

I would want to see it in action before handing my money over for a generic display at almost brand pricing…

A 65" LG or Samsung will likely have a better image quality, motion, interface, support…

  • is the sony 65 for 1.5k a better deal?

    • +1

For +$120, yeah probably the better buy.

  • Does it allow browser app download and installaton?
