Hi jv, no used items, the Garage Sale is in reference to the type of products in the sale. Everything you need for your Garage.

in reference to the type of products in the sale

You marketing department has failed then…

        garage sale : (noun)
a sale of unwanted household goods held in the garage or front garden of someone's house.

        • One of the many quirks of the English language. It could also mean that Masters has a sale on garages.

        • -4

          @geek001:

          has a sale on garages.

how much is delivery though ?

        • Seems to me like it's you who has failed jv by making a bad assumption:

a sale of unwanted household goods held in the garage or front garden of someone's house.

Nothing about this states that they must be used items (and, FWIW, I've bought several unopened items from garage sales before, and have sold unopened items in garage sales).

Been waiting for this saw to go on sale for a couple of month now. Boooyah

  • I'd avoid the drill. Unless you want to buy into a dead end line that no one in Australia will stock and even Dewalt aren't interested in maintaining. Just get the 18V/20V stuff.

Plus, then you can get an impact driver with some balls.

    • Back up this advice too. Not worth it even for $100

    • I checked their DeWalt range, they only stock 14.4v range.
      https://www.masters.com.au/tools/power-tools/drills#mastersw…

While Bunnings stocks only 18v range.
      http://www.bunnings.com.au/search/products?q=drill&redirectF…

Is it a big power difference between 14.4v vs 18v?

This seems to be the cheapest 18v impact drill.

      Any good?

        Different things.

Impact drill = hammer drill = drill holes in concrete and/or make MC Hammer jokes.
Impact driver = scaled down impact wrench = screw/bolt stuff with a quickness

Is there a power difference? On some tools, yeah. On others, not so much.

More importantly, though, is that the 18/20V range is actively developed, whereas the 14V range is exclusive to Masters (which is closing down) and being phased out elsewhere.

I've got the new 18V/20V impact driver, which has around 70nm more torque. Thing can snap steel bolts if you aren't careful.

If you want a subcompact, the 10.8v range is a better fit imho.

        • Thanks for clarifying this. I got confused by the name.

I don't see myself drilling on concrete in the near future.
Most of the time it will be plasterboard ceiling (to install downlights) and some flatpack assembly.

For this purpose, I think a normal drill will do the job… is that right?

        • @cimot: yeah, easily.

    • In fact, Bunnings sell the 18v version of the drill for $40 more.. and it's not on discount…

  • why not do the dewalt for 50% off like before?

    1. Masters is in receivership according to competing retail stores, so are no longer authorised traders for multiple brands.
      This affects warranty etc.

    2. There's no point in chasing these sales, I've learned the hard way, with twice now ringing up, being advised they have plenty of stock, have a few put on hold under my name and number, only to have them disappear between calling and going to pick up (less than a week and advise of the date and general time to boot).

I will refrain from going into the issue of store transfers/item orders.

Until Masters sorts itself out, I'd suggest avoiding them.

Hi 086, Masters is not in receivership. Woolworths is exiting Home Improvement and have put Masters up for sale. All warranties will be honored by Woolworths, so there is no need to worry about warranty.
