Kathmandu Centaurus Sleepsuit $59.98 (Was $249.98)

490

Spotted this today and posted it on ChoiceCheapies but its also on sale in Oz. $249 down to $60. Seems to be a pretty good price. Much like a sleeping bag but shaped like a 'suit'. Rated for temperatures as low as 6 degrees C, so good for those Summer/Autumn/Spring camping trips, maybe not in the middle of winter however.

Also plenty of other camping gear on sale at the moment, so have a browse of their website

We all want one of these. The Centaurus Sleep Suit is a take-with-you-anywhere, water-resistant, EN-tested sleeping bag with a H3 Insulite fill, ideal for moderate climates . The trick is you can wear this sleeping bag, as well as sleep in it. Arm-access “sleeves” allow you to sit up in your tent and read without peeling the bag off your shoulders. A drawstring foot-box can be closed for sleeping, or cinched up around your waist to walk around camp, allowing you to stay cosy in your sleeping bag sitting around the campfire sharing stories, or walking to the blocks to brush your teeth. The drawstring hood provides extra warmth, while the hand pockets provide convenient storage. The Centaurus is a flexible sleeping system, designed for campers, car-travellers, Dirtbag Climbers, students and anyone who wants sleeping bag comfort all the time.

New winter suit for work sorted. I'll just sew a Hugo Boss tag to the neck area

    Also what are…….

The Centaurus is a flexible sleeping system, designed for campers, car-travellers, Dirtbag Climbers, students and anyone who wants sleeping bag comfort all the time.

    Edit:

dirtbag climber (durt-bag kli-mer) n. a person who dedicates her or his entire existence to the pursuit of climbing, making ends meet using creative means. A dirtbag will get her food out of a dumpster, get his clothes from a thrift store, and live in a tent or vehicle to save money. Often found living near major climbing destinations the dirtbag is a rebel with a cause who finds happiness in nature. When the dirtbag grows up (if ever), he or she often is drawn to a profession engaged with the outdoors and/or creative arts

Homeless person + Bear Grylls = dirtbag?

    • +1

I'm technically a "dirtbag climber", and I probably wouldn't use this weird sleeping "bag"… I save money where I can, but buy junk like this and you'll just end up wishing you'd either put the money towards something better…

I have regular human bottom half - will this still work for me?

I can't seem to find any info on the length? What height does this bag suit?

    • Hate to be that guy but I suppose it wouldn't be as efficient as a normal sleeping bag (ala mittens vs gloves).

But nothing says you don't care better than a onezee.

Though the winter sleeping bag for $24.99 does seem cheap compared to the prices I've seen.

    • I challenge any human not to laugh at the sight of that.

    ….

    • Was just wondering if it was ever sold for $249.98. Kathmandu can be tricky sometimes with supposed discounts.

In the description it says there's "hand pockets". I'd like to know how many pockets there are because in the morning most men need 3 pockets.

  • looks great but i don't do camping. struggling to think of any settings i would use this in..

  • can anybody recommend anything else of value to hit the $100 free shipping?

    • Take a look in the outlet section for the deepest discounts.

  • AWesome I need to buy a sleeping bag; dilemma - aldi vs kathmandu? Which one?

  • Yeah guess its ok my sleeping bags rated to -4 so snuggly, like the wearable factor of this one tho :)

Edit: If anyones interested mine was a Caribee got it ages ago but is still kicking was definitely a worthwhile buy. You might be able to find them on sale but in the Caribee online shop theyve got an equivalent rated to -5 for $99.95 (its the first one in the list) - http://www.caribeeshop.com.au/#!sleeping-bags/c8gb

  • Should i get the aldi one for Sydneg winter. I hate the feeling of cold and dont wanna waste electricity

Would be handy if you get woken by a drop bear and have to make a quick getaway.

    • Also handy if you awaken to a dirtbag climbing on you - with the onezee you have the option to either fight or flee. With a typical sleeping bag you just have to lay there and wait until the dirtbag is finished and put up with the thrift store clothes smell and dumpster breath

Wait a sec, if its also $60 NZD, then we're getting ripped off!
