LADDA Smart Charger $15, LSD Rechargeable Battery (4 Packs) $3.99 @ IKEA

90

Cut and paste from a previous deal that has been marked as expired.

IKEA has their LADDA brand of rechargeable battery and smart quick charger. They are currently on the IKEA FAMILY price offer list (which rotates/changes from time to time), 5$ off on the Charger and 2$ off on the battery (4 packs, AA or AAA).

LADDA battery and charger have decent reviews online, eneloop is bit better than this but for the price LADDA is winning my money. Note that LADDA has both Low Self-discharge (LSD) and non-LSD battery. Battery with silver color up to half of the height is LSD variant.

  • A comment in the BLF link suggests these may be superseded in the near future with a bit more expensive higher capacity option that looks a lot like a re-bagged Eneloop Pro, If their is any validity to this I have no idea, either way these still seem great value at only $1ea.

  • Great batteries I have a few Sets I think they are around 2000mah for th AA variant. They don't flinch when charging they stay cool but my charger only does 375mah.
I have a new charger on the way I will do a capacity test soon.

    • What's the model of charfer youbare getting ? Im looking to get a new one and looking for recommendations

      • right now i have a few i use the Nitecore D4 as my go to charger. The one i am buying is the Liitokala Lii - 500 its a analyst charger

        • Thanks. Those look high tech. I am still on a basic Eneloop charger which switches off after 16 hours

  • +1

They are $19.95 and $9.95 (AAA and AA) in Perth and Adelaide. Boo! I'll be in Sydney in late April, so might look to pick some up then.

    • Aside from air travel and time taken on the road, how much will it cost for you to drop by and pickup?
Alternatively, how many sets do you need to purchase to offset the cost?

What is this, year 10 maths?

  • Does anyone have this charger?

It kinda takes about 1-2 hour go fully charge their AAA or AA battery…

    Is that normal?

My previous more expensive (forgot brand but is a known brand) takes about 10 hours

    • If you read the LADDA charger review you will see that it outputs 1A to charge 2000mAh AA Eneloops in 2 hours and 2400mAh AA Eneloop XXs in 2.4 hours (144 minutes), and it outputs 1A reducing to 0.5A to charge 800mAh AAA Eneloops in 1 hour. The physics worked out as expected.

You previous charger obviously outputs a 200mA charging current, and so it takes 10 hours to charge 2000mAh batteries.

      • ThAnks….being an electrical engineer, I recon this shouldn't be rocket science to me. But you know how uni is…

  • New ones in Europe and coming to Aus soon, maybe? http://budgetlightforum.com/comment/910897#comment-910897
