In which case, you wouldn't be buying a ticket…

  • IMO the zoo membership is the best value http://www.zoo.org.au/members for the price of visiting each zoo you get unlimited entry + you can pick up newspaper from each place and get to visit interstate zoos in the same price

    • Not unless you do at least 3 trips per year…

      • That's three more than I visit my in-laws. Great deal.

  • Have you ever consider taking Zoo Victoria Membership its may work out cheaper to get one year Adult membership $90 which includes kids <0-15yrs free

Kids get in free anyway on weekends, public holidays and school holidays.

The only time they pay is when they're supposed to be in school…

      • took the words right outta my mouth.

    • Have you considered taking out "Zoo Victoria" Membership?

This advice is 100% "on the money".

As well as the fact that it applies at all the main zoos in Victoria (Healesville Sanctuary, Werribee Zoo and Melbourne Zoo), the beauty of the yearly pass is that it means you and your kid can visit any of those zoos, any time, even just for an hour or so if that's what suits on the day / at the time.

It also means that if unforeseen things happen (thunderstorm / illness / tired-child/ etc.) after you've already comitted to the day / zoo-visit, it is no stress … because you know you can always come back next week (or month), when the circumstances are better; for no additional cost. If you have a young kid who likes the zoo, I'd seriously consider a yearly pass, especially given that you live in VIC, where the pass covers three great zoos!
