  • Any good? Can this be upgraded to Windows 10? and can RAM be upgraded also?

    • W10 yep.
RAM - unknown but most likely yes if it's a larger laptop (usually an access panel on the bottom).
Harddrive - definitely can be upgraded to SSD.

    • Any windows 7 or 8 machine can be upgraded to 10

Microsoft will do it for you automatically, apparently.

Yes to both questions - free upgrade to Win 10 and RAM upgrades as it has a spare slot, max RAM 8GB I think.

I bought this one $303 with coupon.

From same seller, only difference is it has an Intel Celeron processor which is not as powerful but these PCs are only good for basic things anyway, this one has Win 10 already installed.

N3050 is dual core, while N2940 is quad - very strange naming system
I got an ASUS with N2940 for that price, the rest is about same. bought 8GB RAM and 240GB SSG not putting them in yet - sent for repair twice!

  • not a bad deal. Lst gen I5 but for what most people do with a laptop it's plenty of power.

HD will likely be a slow 5400 RPM mode, but SSDs are cheap these days so factor in ~$120 for a 240GB

Extra RAM would prob be a good

  • Pretty good deal actually , id buy it

  • Can it be used as an alternative to Intel NUC for HTPC? Will HDMI output be fine to support streaming Full HD blue rays or 4k videos ?

    • I've got the 250 G4 with identical specs. It will be fine for full-HD, but I can't seem to get the HDMI output to go to 4K-even at 24fps. Have gone through the Intel graphics control panel and tried everything, but if I set to anything over full-HD, it says there's not enough bandwidth.

The hardware is perfectly capable of supporting 4K at 24fps. I'll do some research and see what I can do.

  • Is there anything with same spec but 14" orsmaller around same price?
