Miele Turbo Brush Tool Attachment STB 205-3 $95.20 + Postage @ The Good Guys eBay

110
CTECHIE

I just picked this up from the Good Guys ebay store. They have it for $119 (Miele store RRP is $145), with the CTECHIE coupon it's nearly $50 off Miele RRP.

I just vacuumed my house and this attachment makes its much easier to vacuum carpets. Well worth it.

  • Is it worth $95? Seems expensive for a head with no motor.
Is it good for thin carpet as well as plush carpet?

Works well on thin carpets, there's a air flow setting on the top for plush carpets.

      IMO, it's worth the $95.

  • I can't speak for the Miele version, but I can speak for the Dyson turbine head.

On the DC37c (technically) not a 'pet' optioned unit, unlike the DC39, I've found that the second hand turbine head that I've been using has been most effective at vacuuming, what I would consider, a mid plush carpet, with quite a good degree of success and performance over the standard non-turbine head.

That I know of, none of the Dyson turbine heads on the floor ball vacuums have motorised heads, and they seem to get good reviews.

But, I did think that the turbo head on the Electrolux ZCS6930 wasn't very effective at all, so..?

    • Not sure if you might have been referring to barrel vacs only, but the DC41 upright has a motor head.

I probably wouldn't recommend that or similar models on tile floors though. We have had a lot of trouble with ours.

      • Yeah, I did mean just the barrel vacuums. Sorry, I was trying to think of what Dyson call their non-upright models. Thanks for the correction. I did think Dyson did a motorised head, but that it wasn't on any of the barrel vacuums (I shouldn't have said 'ball')..

    Will this fit Bosch?

  • out of curiosity, does anyone actually "clean" their vacuum tools?? i've got hardwood in my whole house, and after i finish vacuuming, i try and pull as much of the crap off the head as I can

Have you ever thought about this: When you clean the vacuum cleaner you become the vacuum-cleaner?

      Mind fcuked… :D

      • Actually you become the vacuum-cleaner cleaner.
And if someone cleans you, then they are the vacuum-cleaner cleaner cleaner.
If they are cleaner than you, then they are the cleaner vacuum-cleaner cleaner cleaner.
        Ok I'll stop now.

        • Told ya mind fcuked! :P

I have this and it's fantastic. A life saver if you have pets. It's much better than the default head and I'd even call it a "must buy".

I think I haggled for the price of mine when I bought my vacuum and got it for like $80 so considering this is a stand alone it's a relatively good price.

It vastly improves the performance of your vacuum and is pretty easy to clean. You can unscrew 2 screws on the bottom to open up the head then using some scissors and the vacuum I suck out/pull out all the long strands of hair/string that get stuck on the brushes. Do this once a month (takes 10 mins) and it'll work like new.

  • A bit off topic, but for carpets the best vacuum choice I made (after going through too many expensive new vacuums which only lasted a year or two each) was to buy a 30 year old Kirby for $100 second hand.
