    • Free pickup @ Silverwater , picking mine up (hopefully) in 20 mins

  • saw this this morning, was going to post it but, no network connectivity, 90% of the what i use my PVR is streaming.
its 1080i…. (not full HD 1080P - useful only for full HD files you may have.)
    it does do h264…

    no internal hard drive.

but pretty good price, but network streaming for me is essential.

not sure of other features such as time shifting, (which is what you want a PVR for!)
single tuner but for that price you cant complain.

  • Just bought one too was undecided, but bought the wow sd one awhile back and its worked fantastic…

  • Was going to get one, but not sure if I'd be better off paying a bit more for in built hard drive.

  • Really easy pickup unit looks good will plug it in tonight, was over the moon this is a media player (just about) and pvr woohoo

  • jaybot, I love it as I can take the hdd anywhere plug it into the computer or run it off a media player in another room. I just run a 2.5 hdd and have put a powered usb hub on it and works great…

    • I decided to get one, it's for my mother but it works out cheaper than getting all in one unit, so the portable drive requires extra power source?

Edit: How much space does say 30minutes take up?

      • depends if your portable drive does need a power source, mine doesnt and it should work without an external power

  • just to clarify

Australia does not and will not broadcast in 1,080p

    1,080i is the highest standard

as far as the DTV standards go, if the unit does 720p and 1,080i that is classed as "Full HD"

this is obviously not a fault of the unit itself

  • Is this machine capable of recording something other than FTA? eg. transfer programs from VCR into USB HDD.

    • it only has rf in , so dont think so

  • The main thing i am interested in is playback of h.264 besides the set top box function etc

if it does it well , i will be buying more

  • hey Mikinoz hows the unit been performing??

    • +1

Its a little buggy, i was thinking it was easily worth it , until the power button at the back stopped working. Which is irritating as you need to power it up with an external hdd, a usb stick is plug and pray but works no problems usb 1 or 2

I will take it back and see if i can get the unit swapped, still think its good for the money as it is a pvr and media player aswell as set top box. i cant fault it for just a stb

As a media player it works okay doesnt seem to like h264 all that much but plays everythng else, sometimes it locks up but as much as my dvico.

As a pvr so far its hit and miss but i think it takes a bit of getting used to

There is no new firmware on the web site yet

  • Thanks for the info Mikinoz. I bought the wow sd box awhile ago and its performed flawless so fingers crossed this does the same. I dont have any h264 stuff to play so that no biggie. Can you pause live tv? I cant wait till I get mine…

    • No worries :) it cant pause live tv, just tried it doh , would be a nice feature though

  • ah well I guess you cant expect a rolls royce for $70.00.heheheh

    • True dat :)

  • well just received mine today, what efficent shipping ozstock… now to go and play with it

    • Just watch the buttons getting stuck when you press them, on the remote

i worked this out when it wouldnt stop fast forwarding lol

  • Received mine. Not happy after test:

    Recording current program doesn't work, Schedule recording works;
Recording file size is huge, 7 mins cost 500mb in a 720P format with .pvr file name.
Don't know what video file/video code it can play. According to its simple manual, only Divx6 can be played.
USB hard drive can't be powered up after being inserted to it. USB sticks can work.
