  • Total discount works out better if you buy the smaller drives. Cheapest price I've found for the Seagate ST2000VN000 2TB is $122 each, so with the cash back they're $107 each. Also found the Dlink DNS-320L for $124 which comes down to $94 if purchased with 2 eligible drives. The lot for $308 after cash back seems alright.

  • Great find

  • Anyone know the difference between normal drives and ones with the rescue plan?

    • The actual HDDs are physically the same, but the ones with +Rescue Plan cover for 3 years are more expensive (~$20-50). It's very hard to find specific info on Seagate's site about the Rescue Plan cover on those HDDs but I suspect Australian Consumer Law probably covers us even without it.

UPDATE: Found the info on Embedded Rescue Plans.

Thanks I didn't see that - so essentially someone will recover data from your drive for free within a 3 year period? Might as well just have disks in RAID 1 and a cloud backup…
