This is probably the lowest price I've seen on a 960GB SSD. It seems to have pretty good reviews despite the budget price.
The price converted to AUD is roughly $270 shipped, depending on your CC you might be paying close to $280, good price regardless.

Also, does anyone know what the warranty process is like with Amazon US?

hmmm they seem uber cheap.. never heard of 'Silicon Power' though… it sounds like implants

  • specs for the 960GB are:

    Read/Write: 540/480 MB/s
    Dimensions: 100.0 X 69.85 X 7.0 mm
    IOPS(4K Random): 43K/24K

It's TLC which means lower endurance limit than MLC and SLC, slower read and write speeds than MLC and lower program/erase cycles per cell.

Still, at this price, I'm not sure that's a huge problem.

    • That's my concern as well (TLC), but I just think as long as I backup my important files it wouldn't matter too much. After all, no one can really guarantee that SLC and MLC wouldn't fail on me, it's more about luck sometimes…
The other thing to think about is that Samsung EVOs are actually TLC as well, just in a different price range…..

  • Sounds like quite a large failure rate on those, going by the reviews.
