  • Decent prices.

I bought 128gb patriot 5 pack to get it down to $46.30ea. Passed-on extras at cost.

  • Bought the 200gb on the last deal and arrived quickly to Wollongong. Can confirm its working on the Xiaomi yi :)

    • Better than the Samsung evo+?

      • +2

Similar speeds to the evo+, but Sandisk is much cheaper.

My pick of the 128's at the moment is the PNY High Performance at the same price, seems to have far better write speeds.

128's still have too slow writes for my Android TWRP backups to move away from the high speed 64GBs available but they are tempting.

From the Top Rated Review of the PNY:

The 128GB & 16GB versions of this card are rated at UHS-1, compared to the much faster UHS-3 rating of the 32GB and 62GB models. Most of the reviews you'll see on here with 5-star ratings showing 50-60MB/s write speeds are for the 32/64GB cards, but the 16/128GB cards are going to be a lot slower. They'll still hit 60MB/s "transfer" (READ) speeds as listed in the item description, but the WRITE speed is a much slower 15-20MB/s - about 1/3 the speed of the UHS-3 cards

So appears that the 128GB version has the same speed as the Sandisk, but I'd personally choose the sandisk due to better reliability (6% 1-star ratings compared to PNY's 20% 1-star ratings)

EDIT: Whoops didn't see the bottom part of your comment, sorry.

      • Yeah I never said it was really fast, just faster as the SanDisk is pretty slow.
The posted benchmarks in the reviews shows the PNY at over 20MB/s while the SanDisk is more like 15MB/s, also it's faster at 512k and 4k writes.

    • Really? Very strange. Are you guessing the time it takes rather than using a timer or benchmark?

Thanks op. The 200gb should go nicely with my Sony xperia c5 ultra.

    Awesome deal.

I've been looking for a 64GB/128GB MicroSD card for my S7 Edge.

This is an awesome price for a branded MicroSD card with large capacity.

Thanks OP for the deal. :))

  • What is currency to be used when adding a credit card to Amazon account? AUD or My card is in different currency.

    • Doesn't really matter, because on the final screen you can choose between paying in USD or AUD anyways. If you have a fee free card such such as 28 degrees, or any card with low currency conversion fees, I'd suggest paying in USD.

      • I have a regular bank issued Visa card. What do you suggest I should pay in?

        • Not sure, most people pay in USD as Amazon's conversion rates are horrible. If you want to be on the safe side, pay in AUD. Maybe check out the fees your bank charges so you know which option to choose for future amazon purchases.

        • @lyl:

I thought it was the other way around, Amazon's conversion rates are better than Aussie banks so its better to pay in USD. I have noticed this when booking on Airasia but not sure about Amazon.

        • Pay in USD.

Almost all banks charge an Overseas Transaction Fee of 2%-4% on Visa/MC payments processed overseas, even if you pay in AUD.

By choosing to pay in AUD, you'll suffer Amazon's poor conversion rates in addition to this fee.

        • @Icecold5000:

Maybe you're right, I'm not too sure. Though from my past amazon posts, I've only heard people whining about amazon conversion rates and how they received a better price when paying in USD.

        • @lyl:

Thanks all. I will pay in USD.

          @lyl:

Might be time to order now as the whole sale USD/Oz is around 75c and the Oz is on a bit of a high at the moment. I go SE Asia quite often and am amazed by how good the exchange rates are there when compared with Aussie banks so

I remember when Amigas had 20 mb external hard drives which sold for over $1000 dollars so totally amazed by technology when these products come out. Also amazed by how people can pay 1k for a 16gb iPhone.

  • is this the fastest?

    • no

  • I was going to buy the 64gb one which would cost me $31 AUD but then I found this..

    https://www.ablecomputing.com.au/Script/MCH/ShopProductS.asp…

    Same thing for $27.53…

    Any thoughts ??

  • i missed out again, changed to 79 USD as i added to chart, then to 129 after refresh.

    • Down to 79 again.

Edit if you click on the link above tomgo directly to the 200gb it gives you 79 but if you click on the 'go to deal' it will show as 129.
