  • BOW on an ARSE …. nice one TA ;)

    • Yea I love that coupon code, excellent work TA, lol

  • Oh man, I only just got the p3 last time around!

  • +4

Just a small thing but they look like on-ears not over-ears… big difference in comfort in my opinion but hey everyone's different

    • Yes these are on-ear, personally I wouldn't buy them as I prefer the over-ear type.

It does seem like a very good price though if you don't mind on-ear phones.

Lots of reviews here for anyone interested: http://www.head-fi.org/products/bowers-wilkins-p5-mobile-hea…

      • When the reviews say "I really wanted to like these" and "these are not reference headphones" …. I am less than convinced. They do look great though.

        • Thing is , why the hell do music lovers get drawn the same headphones DJ's use for reference.

DJ's need headphones that draw a certain specialty range or loud as (profanity) ones that can out-shout an entire nightclub.

me, I'm usually walking around wanting to enjoy a song with full dynamic range at a normal volume unamplified… massively different scenareo

    • Cushioning for me has been surprising - doesn't get uncomfortable after extended periods of use unlike some other on-ear headphones.

  • White is ugly. You can get the black to have same discount if you get one of each colour. But don't want to buy one of each.

  • +1

Have had the black ones for about 2-3 years, still one of the best pairs of headphones I've had. Guess the only downside to the white pair is that it becomes quite dirty regardless of how well you keep them.

    • I've had the black ones also for 3-4 years, best pair of headphones I've ever had - the sound gets even nicer with age!

  • +1

Great price and I only have Momentums and Marleys and Jaybirds and Pistons and… (from previous ozbargain deals of course) - must resist.

  • Oh now this pisses me off. My pair arrived 4 days ago from the last time exeltek posted them. $45 more expensive.

Shoot them a PM… You have nothing to lose by asking if there's anything they can do :)

      • +2

They came through. Very polite about it and I will be sure to place follow up orders with them.

        • +2

There you go. Thanks for the feedback :)

  • +1

Great value. Definitely a bargain. But for the people that want the latest and greatest, these have since been replaced by the "P5 Series 2"

  • Pimping looking 'phones. Nice pice too :)

  • How much normally?

  • -4

Overpriced, you only buy the brand.

    • From experience?

      • Saw similar price from HN(Auburn) before, didn't get a pair due to plenty negative reviews online.

  • you can always rely on Exeltek….bonus that they are just down the road from where i work

  • I just jumped in! Cant resist at this price point.

  • +4

    i've had these before.
pros- sound fantastic-balanced but lively sound. look fantastic. quality is fantastic.
negs- the pouch they come with is useless. the cord is really thin and costs $$$ to replace if you break it. as mentioned above they are on ear- so your ears will get hot with leather pressed tightly against them, if you wear glasses your ears will probably hurt.

  • Any chance you can do a deal for the black?

  • It has wires, doesn't it?

  • +1

How would these compare to my pair of ATH-M50x's?

    • +1

These are open ear, as opposed to closed. I would say that these are better, as they sell for a much higher price and have excellent reviews. M50s are overrated, i sold mine.

    • +2

From what I understand they wouldn't be a step up, as much as sideways.

  • How do these compare to P3?

    • way way better. I regret buying p3 for the discomfort

How does this fit for big heads? Also, are these series 1 or series 2?

    • -2

How does this fit for thick heads?

      Fixed that for ya ;)

    • These are not good for big heads, ignore the comment from the d!ck head.

If he can't be bothered reading the heading, and/or the description he deserves it.

BTW, it wasn't me that neg'd him.

    • Thanks everyone. I was skimming through quickly on the phone, just wanted to ask before I forgot to. I have a large noggin, suffer from compression (skull crushing) from a lot of head phones out there.

  • +1

Thanks I think, they can go next to my DT990's, HD598's, Q701's, M50x's, RS170's … all from ozbargain

Maybe time to flick a pair :)

    http://www.whathifi.com/bw/p5-series-2/review

The series 2 does sound far superior according to this review.

  • Seriously tempted…..

  • ive had a pair for 2 years. great headphones. good treble, not exactly thumping bass

minor discomfort if you wear them for hours at a time around the ear but otherwise great headphones

  • Darn, I pulled the trigger on the P3s last time round, clearly too soon!

  • Might be tempted by this if they weren't white. Hooray, instant save of $145! :D

  • check few reviews and came up with this modifications which will improve the "clarity, detail, dynamic and bass articulation".
