Wet'n'Wild Sydney - 1 Day Entry - $29

230

With the temperature at Blacktown set to hit 33 degrees tomorrow, this is the cheapest opportunity yet to knock Wet'n'Wild Sydney off the bucket list ;-) Great for the school holidays too! Open until 8PM tomorrow!! Entry is usually $70-80 a day.

knock Wet'n'Wild Sydney off the bucket list

I'm hoping OzBargain Members bucket lists are a little more aspirational.

    • For some people this is the most they will do all year

$30 to go on the line ride

  • Spray your self with water. Or better still, get someone else to do it!

    • Do they go down the slide the wrong way?

Ah, but it could be only 23 degrees tomorrow…
Oops, sorry. I'm from Melbourne. :)

Fear this will be packed because of the offer so will hopefully hear back from intrepid ozbargainers who take the plunge and head down tomorrow.

Or I will always just read whining reviews on trip advisor!

They should be open more days as people are turned off by the large crowds and the place has developed a bad rep. So it becomes a ghost town on cooler days and a packed zoo the next warm one where it takes an hour to get on a ride…

My theory is that a lot of Greater West locals who buy seasonal passes use it as a huge local aquatic centre, given the lack of community pools - amusements and sheer population size it really is a no brainer why there are so many crowds. The unfortunate thing is if you are a high paying once off visitor you are immediately turned off - $120+ might be a bargain for pool entry if you go fifty days in the year but paying $70 to be heaved up against sweaty bodies isn't exactly a memorable 'fun' park experience.

Go on the cold days, isn't as fun but at least you won't be competing against the masses for one ride an hour in saying that I have noticed the close some big ticket rides (tantrum, bombora) on 'slow' days. No explanation given but I assume it's to cut costs.

I seem to remember BOF (the NSW premier back in the day) raving about it along with KK. Didn't it receive partial government funding? Why is the thing so damn expensive to run that standard ticket prices cost $70 (before parking, food, locker, seating hire!) hours are limited and rides are often closed?

I would avoid volunteer and discount days like the plague if the reviews are to be believed online.

Also DO NOT GO BY YOURSELF. From memory there are only two slides you can go on solo. Unless you want to just waddle around on the huge 'beach' which just looks like a kiddie wading pool taken too far, the rip current in the SOPAC aquatic centre is more exciting than the limp 'waves' (ripples) that are produced.

I've loved water slides since going to Manly Waterworks last century and it would be nice to have an exciting long solo ride (not the five second space probe 7 style drop into the pool or tame kiddie 'race')

Wet n wild Sydney is pathetic
When we went the whirlpool was closed and not enough life guards on kids slides so kids had to wait till one life guard below rotates to their slide

Will never go there again! Waste of time money. Took my kids to aquatic centre Olympic park and they had more fun there with the kids slide area and only $6!

Thanks OP. Went in today at 10am on the $29 deal. All rides open and fully staffed (at least 2 on top and 2 below the big slides). Finished all rides at least once by lunch time with <5 minutes wait time. After lunch, staff numbers went down to only one on top and one below on the big slides and wait time was about 20+ minutes per ride. The car park was half full by the time we left at 4.30pm (meaning that attendance was under 50% of max capacity) and there was no one mending the exit so free parking.
