i7 Quad Core Notebook Blu-Ray Writer DVB-T Card 15.6" LED Backlit 4GB Ram Win7 - $1389 Officeworks

390

EDIT: it is $1477 now on the officeworks website. I can't edit the title because if I do I can't type as many letters into it. I dont know if this is a bug.

Officeworks is clearing out the HP Pavilion DV6-2119TX Core i7 for $1,389.00

It has
quad core i7 Q720 @ 1.60GHz
4gb ddr3 ram
15.6 inch led backlit screen
digital tv tuner built in
blu-ray writer
640GB hard drive
Win 7
NVIDIA GeForce GT 230M with 1gb ram

What more do you want for $1389 other than a smaller screen? :p

    Display size (diagonal)
15.6" Diagonal High Definition LED HP Brightview Widescreen Display

    Display resolution

inadequate resolution for the firepower under the bonnet

video card is a bit weak too

Gosh! $300 less than competitors! Excellent price for i7 and BD-writer. ($1694+del)

HP is the least reliable laptop brand, though. — SquareTrade 2009
Having known someone who's low-end HP failed last year, I can believe this. (HP Support also initially asserted that it wasn't eligible, which was absurd.)

      This man tells the truth.
I used to work in a nationwide elec. retailer.
failure & return rates of HP was only topped by Compaq (who HP own and manufacture anyway, just even more cheaply)

….but still, for the price it is i reckon its a top deal!
i paid $1475 for my Asus N61JQ a couple of months back, and it has very similar features except the HP has the Blu-Ray drive and TV Tuner.

im still happy with my purchase tho, ill take the better Brand and better graphics card anyday

    • Add me to the list - 4k laptop "bought on special though" which had the graphic card fried just 2 months after warranty.
      Never ever HP again.

To be fair, my first laptop was an HP-Compaq NX6125, and it's still going except for it's DVD-drive (which developed a special "luckydip"/"now you see me, now you don't"-type feature.)

      • +2

Your nx6125 is an HP business class laptop, albeit an entry level one. HPs business class laptops are second to none, and the global 3 year onsite warranty (on higher spec ones) is awesome too.

But HP continue to give themselves a very bad name with their woeful consumer offerings such as these pavillions and presarios. You really have to wonder about the highly paid idiots that make these branding decisions.

Anyway, HP shooting themselves in the foot like this is good for me, because I can acquire their excellent business laptops real cheap, because nobody else will touch them, since they have all been tarred with the same presario/pavillion brush.

I like your line. I may just use it and credit it to, "You and Me" and I won't be lying.
e.g. "Yes boss I was working hard. What do you mean, 'You didn't see me for hours'. That's just, per You and Me, a luckydip feature I have."

It's funnier in my mind. Anyway I believe I hate the feel of the trackpad on these HP laptops. Touch one. It's gross.

        • Why, thank you — you've quite the turn of phrase yourself…

HP could launch a (reverse psychology) campaign with:

          "Touch one. It's gross."

  • seems almost too good to be true!!
wonder why its on clearance? it cant be that old of a model with Win7 and especially i7 processor.

  • It's definitely an old model. Comes up as End of Line on the purchasing system. However, great deal for this machine you probably can't find it cheaper. But have fun with tech support…

    Graphics is poor.

  • I am not a HP fan either but this is an excellent price. If you are going overseas soon you can also claim back 10% GST at the airport. I wonder when I can see all these i5, i7 laptops on sale for less than $1k? Probably in three months?

  • droool….

  • Hmm.. What a beast! Shame about the graphics card though.

Still a good deal for what you're getting here.

  • I wouldn't go anywhere near HP, their support is terrible and their hardware is no where as reliable as other brands like Dell and Toshiba….

  • Just had a look at office works web site and they advertise it at $1477 not $1389, which store had it at $1389?? or was it online only???

    • Looks like the price has gone up. I will update the deal.

  • The price has gone up on the OfficeWorks website although when i went Instore at my local OW they had it for $1389.

Bought one and it's been great so far, although battery is a bit of a let down.
