There is now an official app for Reddit and they are offering 3 months free Reddit Gold for those download the app and login in during their launch week.

Not sure how good the app is, have personally been using Baconreader but will be giving this one a go esp with the 3month reddit gold.

          People more do it for showing support to Reddit and helping them out with server costs and stuff. It also gets gifted to other users to say thanks for their comment or to compliment them.

      Yep, this new app is too clunky to switch between your subscribed subs, you have to open menus whereas on Now for Reddit you just have to swipe…

      Plus having a tiny icon for minimising comment chains is too small for such a common task…

    I can't believe over in reddit, people are so hyped up about having gold. It's not even that rewarding of having it. The benefits sucks tbh. With the benefits of having ad free, you can just use adblock.

    Alien Blue on iPhone got me into Reddit (thanks to a free deal on Pro here on Ozbargain last year). I really like it now, I read every day. Rather than the front page noise, subscribe to a few interests and off you go. There are some REALLY smart people on Reddit.

      Once you get off the default subs its alot better.

      Just need to look around, i mean reddit has everything from kitten pics right through to childrens corpses being mutilated, so something for everyone. Not to mention it would have easily the biggest collection of original content porn in the world.

    I went to a talk where the founder of Reddit spoke. He said that for the first 6 months of Reddit's life, they had zero users - it was just him and his cofounder creating hundreds of accounts and posting them on the site pretending they had users just so their investors won't get mad. It makes me wonder about ozbargain… is it just TA and Scotty here… everyone else doesn't exist? Lol. Does even TA exist?
