  • Nice deal TA

Only problem going to Cebu via Singapore is that flight from Singapore to Cebu is more expensive than the flight From Gold Coast to Singapore even though the flight is half as long.

    Sydney flying Scoot (Apr-Jun)

These dates are giving me $328 not 308

    • Yep same for Melbourne

    • I figured it out - 308 if you use POLi

      • Just be careful with POLi you need to have adequate time between payment and flight. I've been caught out before, when departing too soon after "purchasing" my ticket.

Hi havok & thespot. Pricing is clearly explained in the deal description.

      • ma bad

      • TA could you pass this onto IWTF, re search behavour of the site:
i wanted to search cheap fares from Sydney to blank(ie anywhere) from 02/07/16 to 17/07/16 (ie. school leaves). a lot of low fares returned. but they are either outside the period (fares are for April/May, LA, HK, just to name a couple). Am I doing it wrong?

        Cheers.

  • I know that it would be risky and stressful, but can anyone comment please on what Singapore airport terminals are like to transit through if I had 2 separate bookings and needed to transfer there (going out through Immigration and back in through Immigration). I know that I would have to make sure that both flights use the same terminal.
Also I am I correct in assuming that a travel agent could make and consolidate bookings for 2 separate airlines allowing me to transit without immigration?

    • I have never had a problem. Free wifi, many English speakers and it has undergone significant upgrades in the last few years.

How much time to you have between transfers? the separate terminal issue should not be an issue if you have time.

Best in the world, lots to see and do, free wifi, free internet terminals, games, tv, gardens, affordable food and cinema.
There's also free tours if you're stuck there for more than 6 hours in transit.

Immigration is a breeze, only wished it was the same back home in Aus.
HK and SG are my transit airports of choice when I travel.

Agreed to best in the world - one of the few airports I really don't mind getting stuck in for a few hours, plenty to do

      • The cinema is free too

    • I've done it a few times (within the same terminal), although I only have carry-on luggage. The critical issue is how much time you have between flights. Anything less than 2 hours and you're really cutting it fine.

    • Instead of going to a travel agent, try a flight search site that lets you do a multi city search and customize each leg, such as Google Flights. If the two airlines have a codeshare agreement, you may be able to have both flights on the same booking. This would allow you to check in all the way. Do this if possible, it makes the connection less risky. Some airports still require you to go through security when transiting though. Not sure what the situation at Singapore airport is.

    • I have done this (2 bookings through Singapore in the same terminal).

I don't think the same terminal thing matters, except for timing (i.e. needing to leave more time to travel between terminals).

But immigration was fine. I wrote length of stay as either 0 days or 1 day (I forgot what I put, I think 1 day), and was happy to answer their questions if they questioned me. But they didn't ask me anything and it was very smooth.

    • A travel agent can suggest an itinerary with two airlines that have an agreement, so it will be on one ticket. They can't make two random airlines work together to transfer your luggage etc. If you do need to take two unrelated airlines and you're not flexible on that, I'd consider a long layover. As others have mentioned it is an exceptionally nice airport.

The immigration and security are very efficient. But if the first plane runs late, it would be risky depending on the time you have allowed.

      • Thanks to all for the info. I don't have actual bookings as yet. Just researching to get cheapest fares etc. I would only be doing it with carry-on luggage. Regards Peck

        • Even if you had check-in, it's not an issue though. It's not like you're not allowed to transit over 2 separate tickets. It's just that it's completely your responsibility in terms of leaving enough buffer between your flights.

  • Just booked my Singapore return flight from Perth for $263.80 with 15kg, no food and no seat selection. thanks IWTF.

Just reminder you can price beat the Melbourne Scoot flight with Jetstar to make it $277.
