  • Poll: Do people feel guilty buying mothers day discount items for themselves?

    • +6

      No.

    • +1

      I felt like a bad mother…

      So it worked itself out.

    • If you did, you probably wouldn't be on Ozbargain

  • If your a female with kids then you fit the criteria.

  • Is this active?

I've tried two different mother's day events and put more than $50 into the cart each time and it says coupon conditions have not been met..

I tried the gifts under $50 and the mothers day guide one, doesn't make sense.

I know the post says "*Discount will be applied to items from our Catch Loves Mum's event only" but this isn't the name of any event I can find.

    • I tried the code with the coffee machine, phone, mixer and camera at checkout and all were successful (whilst logged in)

      Eg Mixer:

      Sub Total $649.00
      Standard postage - $9.99
      Discount (LoveMum) - $129.80
      Total $529.19

It should be anything in here which is the event link, it doesn't appear to work on food/grocery items however.

      • That's exactly where I started from, if you read the names of the events I mentioned they are clearly there, in the mothers day section.

For reference I tried buying $60 worth of clothing on one attempt and a $60 perfume on a second attempt neither works, makes me think there are further restrictions or exclusions than publicised…

Fwiw, I am also logged in and a club catch member.

        • Hmm okay, I'm not a club catch member. This is where the code is from - no other conditions listed there.

        • Yep i can't get it to work for items selected under mothers day event either… :(

        • @killabob:

Are you a club catch member?

        • @hamza23:
It's nothing to do with being a club catch member, they haven't excluded cc members from using the code. That would be ridiculous.

I have confirmed with another account that is not a cc member and the code still does not work, for the same items I tried earlier, perfume, clothing. Around $60

        • @nismo:

I signed up to a new account as a test, it worked for the KSM160 mixer fine (got Neil to test it also successfully). The discount didn't show until I entered my postcode in the postage box on the new account though. I doubt that would be the case for you though as that would be filled out by default, it also didn't give an error message like you stated - it just didn't apply any discount until I put the postcode in.

Try live chat I reckon, show them the Australia post link which was just a generic email sent to subscribers (not linked to my COTD account email either).

        • @hamza23: FWIW, the code worked fine for me…I'm not a CC member either.

        • @nismo:

Okay, I tried a different perfume item just now & got the same error as you now about coupon conditions not met so it seems it's just certain items not working - that is really odd as that's straight out of the same event (Mother's Day Gift Guide) as the mixer which works. Even some of the other items like the coffee machine work that aren't directly from the event (but are listed there).

I had only tried the code on the phone, mixer, some shoes, camera & coffee machine initially. Live chat should be able to fix it or explain why a perfume item doesn't work when it's from the advertised event. There's definitely no minimum spend as it works on the $8 phone.

        • @hamza23:
yeah, it's all a bit strange. thanks for checking. I wasn't interested in perfume just did that as a test. I do want to buy some clothing so will fire off a message on chat later, or call them.

    • I'm a member, and Sony camera works for me. Fyi

Haha thanks didn't notice that. Most of those are competitions, the other 90 must be forum posts.

  • -2

    crap of the day? pass

  • Am i doing something wrong? i can get $2 off for the cordless phones, but i am still getting charged for delivery. unless i have read it wrong up the top and it doesn't include delivery?

    Coupon: LoveMum

    Standard postage - 2164
    $9.99
    Discount (LoveMum)

You need to pay postage for the phone. Even if you get club catch free trial they only give free shipping if you spend over $50.

      • Thanks a lot! i will add shoes or something.

  • Does anyone know if the Breville products are also eligible for the cash back deals running through brevillepromotions.com.au at the moment?

    • I don't think so.

      Terms

To be eligible to claim, individuals must purchase an eligible Breville product from any participating Retail Store or online third party e-retailer during the promotional period.

      However then it says:

To claim their specified cash back, individuals must, during the Promotional Period (a) purchase the BES980 from participating stores (a list is provided on the online claim form).

If you fill out the first 2 steps of the form, you'll see Catch of the Day isn't listed as one of the retailers from the drop down box.

      • I thought it might be wishful thinking - cheers Hamza23

  • I bought the bodum stand mixer

he love mum coupon wouldn't work - so i spoke to a rep online and after i bought the product, they refunded me 20% of the price

Happy in the end - and got the stacked discount - but a bit of bother. Ideally it would work without stuffing around

    • how much did you paid?

      • I see they are now $149.

        I paid $148.xx

  • Good price for the KitchenAid. Literally bought one 3 weeks ago as a gift for $100 more. Such a lemon.

    • it could have been worse.. you could have figuratively bought one with literally real money.

  • When speaking to COTD on chat they gave me this url and said only items from here:
    Catch Loves mums

    • Ah that explains it, thanks for finding that out. Updated link.

      • No worries, weird how you can't find that event on their site.

I did however manage to get the 20% off everything I bought, including some protein for my Mum lol ;)
(manually credited back to my PayPal )

Accodring to the kitchenaid site, you can possibly get a free spiraliser? https://kitchenaid.com.au/products/stand-mixers?slider-cta=y

Bought the EM9300 coffee machine, moving on from the Nespresso pods.

I only use it for black coffee, so the milk part is still in the packaging, but it works well. Grinds nicely, easy to clean.

    Con:

    • It doesn't remember your type of coffee after powering it off, it defaults to Latte. It remembers heat and volume settings, so it's not too annoying but "one touch" becomes "five touch" when you have to change to Long Black and change strength.
    • 1.4L water tank is a bit on the small side.

    Pro:

    • Not as ugly as in the photos.
    • Nice coffee. Hot enough, strong enough. Doesn't take long to heat up from being off.
    • Dirt cheap - I've been looking around for a fully automatic without finding anything decent even at triple the cost.
