Dell XPS 15 Laptop, 16GB/512 SSD/ 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160) Display - $2548 @ JB Hi-Fi

790

First time poster- was looking for an ultra book and came upon this deal. This is a high end XPS with i7, 16GB RAM, 512 SSD, 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160) touchscreen display. JBHFi currently have a 15% off on some laptops and this drops the price down from 2999 to 2548- which is the same as the entry level XPS 15 on the dell website. JB are also offering an additional 1.5 years of JBHIFI warranty on top of the 1 year offered by Dell( not sure if this is actually worthwhile).

Edit: forgot to mention the dedicated graphics card ( it's not the greatest but still).

In my opinion a good deal for those looking at XPS 15

I've been trying to figure out for months whether I should go for a Surface Book or the XPS 15. I finally made up mind last Friday and despite this price not being the best one (a few weeks ago with the eBay 20% I could have got it for $2,400) I think it was a wise decision. This device is absolutely awesome! It's much more powerful than any Surface out there and it looks incredibly nice! Go for it and you will not be disappointed!

  • There's an in-depth review of it on AnandTech

Seems great except for the keyboard.

  • it's a pretty sweet one op!

  • Awesome deal. 1.7cm thick, 1.7kg and 84Whr battery…

    • 56Whr battery is 1.78kg's

      84Whr battery is 2kg's.

      • Thanks for the clarification!

Before anyone even thinks of buying this, look at the issues !

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/dell-xps-15-9550-lis…

    • Those are isolated issues, which have probably been corrected by BIOS updates and Dell software updates. They have sold thousands of these things.

      • There were Hardware QC issues, just at least spend some time on the thread !

Meh….In AUstralia, the dell forums, overlockers and whirlpool users have had positive things to say.

  • Dammn. If I didn't need a decent battery- I'd sell my 15" Macbook & get this straight away!

  • any other cheaper options for UHD or 4k laptops? I don't need a touch screen.

If I have a 4k TV, a laptop like this will run windows in UHD or 4k resolution?
While I'm at it I might as well ask…

Can anyone recommend a solid 4k or UHD Desktop tower? Cheap as possible….

    Thanks from a noob
