Note: I cannot link to the offer because its in the Spotlight tab of Xbox 360. I don't know when the offer expires.

1.) Check the Spotlight tab of Xbox 360 (that's where all new games and addons are announced. Like today's spotlight shows Splinter Cell Conviction new in stores.
2.) You scroll sideways and you'll see the offer. I confirmed with a friend and he sees it too.

I think Silver members will be upgraded and Gold members will have an additional month added. I can confirm that I got an additional month added to my pre-existing 1 year XBL Gold.

Only catch I see is that Microsoft will renew your membership automatically every month. But you can cancel your Gold membership anytime you want, so that should not be a problem.

      You have to log into xbox.com.au to cancel, you can't do it from your xbox.

    Here's a glitch I found last night, when you buy the $1 Live from the dashboard it asks you to log out and then back in to see changes, don't, instead buy it again and again until you have as many as you want, the moment that you log out the option to buy disappears. I just checked and MS have billed me $7, I wish I bought more now but wasn't sure it would work. I might try cancelling through xbox.com and going wild on it…

      It's because not everyone can get this offer. I looked as soon as I went home yesterday but it didn't show up on my 360 (Brisbane). My friend in Sydney could not see it on his 360 either. The conditions for this offer to show up seems rather random.

      I've just checked mine and I have 3 months for $22.95. Maybe they have a special algorithm that outputs a random number of months and a random price and then sends it to your account.
