Not sure when this started or when it'll be back to costing money but it's a fantastic trilogy at a fantastic price (free!)

US link: http://www.amazon.com/Ingary-Trilogy-Howls-Moving-Castle-ebo… - there are mixed reports as to whether the US Amazon store has this available… give it a try and check out the comments below for troubleshooting.

Also available from the US Amazon store. Thanks, OP.

    • Awesome, added the link to the body of the post.

I just tried the US link, and it said it was, "not currently available for purchase".

        • That sucks.

    Aargh… what's happened to my Amazon.com account?

I'm actually reading Howl's Moving Castle this very moment at my 10-year old daughter's urging. She'd love to read the other ones, and so I merrily clicked away…

But when I landed, it was in the Amazon.com.au store, which I immediately left because I don't want to end up with a crippled account paying higher prices for less choice, but when I then went to Amazon.com, it immediately told me that I couldn't buy it from there because my account was with Amazon.com.au.

Not sure if this was connected, but what can I do now..

    • Oh no :( I've always just bought from the AU store for sake of simplicity so no idea! Goodluck, maybe a google search will help?

    • Try opening an incognito page or just clear all cookies and history

    • The same with me, but that should be no problem, every time there's a $0 kindle ebook on amazon.com, it's also available on amazon.com.au. Only my kindle is attached to amazon.com.au

  • Awesome, thanks OP!!! :D

Yeah! Usually the free books aren't the best books but this trilogy is great and it's normally worth around $25 I think, looking at the price of some of her other trilogies.

Thanks, my favourite author. I actually met her many years ago (showing my age a bit), still remember it well. She signed many of her novels when I met her, I still treasure them :)

Oh wow! She's one of my favourite authors as well, you're so lucky you got to meet her! I was looking for some good books to read because I'm flying overseas tomorrow and checked on a whim although I already own most of her books in paperback. I was so happy to find this.

The USA link worked for me.

Same. USA link worked fine, thanks OP

    • Wow, that is weird. The link technically worked, I'm getting to the appropriate page. However, instead of the box to buy things, it just states that it is "unavailable". Were you able to get it through the US link?

I got it yesterday after the OP put the deal up, but went straight to Amazon US and didn't have a problem.

I've just opened an incognito window and logged on with a different Amazon US account and it's still fine for me.

Is it okay to post the full address from my browser, before I logged in? I guess someone will remove it if it's against the rules:

        • Thanks for that info and link. I tried opening an incognito window and I could see that it was available this time. I clicked buy, logged in, then it told me: "Due to copyright restrictions, the Kindle title you're trying to purchase is not available in your country: United States." I have a US account, so it might be restricted there.

I tried it from the AU link as well, and it told me the AU store was for AU and NZ. shrugs I guess no freebies for me.

  • currently free on AU store, search for the 'Land of Ingary'

    • I just clicked on the US link and it told me I should shop at the au store - clicked on that link and there it was, for free. Thanks for the info.

The link in the picture to the right on this page is to the AU store :)

      • ahh yes, my bad, should have looked at the link.

'Diana Wynne Jones' sounds like a spin off series of Indiana Jones about the expeditions of his aptly named daughter. :P

Daddy named himself after the dog?

  • Using the US link (my Kindle store is set to US) gives me this error:

"theguyrules, this title is not available for you.

Due to copyright restrictions, the Kindle title you're trying to purchase is not available in your country: United States.

Did you recently move to a new country?

You can easily update your country for your Amazon account."

    • Yep - as I said in the original post check out some of these comments for trouble shooting because there have been mixed reports about US availability. Goodluck.

    • Yeah, I got this as well, and I have a US account.
