  • Samsung netbooks have received some good comments in various PC magazines, and this one seems to most of the features of the Asus EeePC1000H at much less than I paid for it. I am wondering if this Samsung has BlueTooth and what operating system comes with it, though. Regardless, it's a very nice deal.

  • XP comes with it. I think you can install Windows 7 though. No bluetooth however and only mono speaker. You can check discussion on same model here: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/20190

  • I really like the touchpad on these and the keyboard seems bigger than the 1000H we have home, but would have liked if it came with 6 cell for the price. You can't have everything though. I'm still thinking if I should get it. It would be helpful to bring to uni every day as it's very light.

  • Are they clearing the older model of the N130? The current version of the N130 comes with windows 7 per the Samsung website.

At jbhifi, the specs says its a 6 cell battery??? http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/computers-laptops/laptops/sam…

Note this model is the KA02AU. The more expensive one is the JA01AU

  • I know the one I saw had XP on it. Probably clearing the old models.

  • +5

Don't forget the free gift as well - http://www.samsung.com/au/experience/promotion/

    • Wow, that has to be the most gigantic power jack that I've seen. I thought at first it was a web cam. :)

    • Good to get something free but seems like a strange offer (of all the things to give away). How many power adapters do most people really need (compared to getting a bag, mouse, printer, keyboard, etc to go with the netbook)?

  • I have had one of these models for the last 6 weeks or so & can recommend it as a gr8 machine with battery lasting up to 7-7.5hrs for me for the 6 cell. I see their is the same model of battery listed for sale on ebay for other samsung laptop/netbooks that lasts a few hrs longer also but as yet I havent order one but am tempted.

  • Would it be better with the Asus EPC1001HA? If it has 6-cell battery, then for $328, it's a better deal.

  • Just got one, quite a good deal, cause it has 6 cell battery and matte screen (I hate glossy)

  • If it's a 6 cell then it's an excellent deal.
I think my local Harvey Normal in Indooroopilly QLD is trying not to sell these netbooks at this price.
All laptops and netbooks have a big price tag on them staing how much it is except this little Samsung, it just has it's little RRP sticker of $399 on it.
I ask the salesperson who was extremely busy if it had a 3 cell or 6 cell battery and he said he thinks it's a 3 cell.

    • Yeah, salesperson also told me that it has 3-cell battery, but in reality there is a 6 cell one :-)

      • Typical HN staff. Last time I spoke to one of them, she told me the laptop can last up to 12 hours because of the Centrino chip. Go figure.

  • Picked one up @ HN City West. Battery part # is aa-pb1tc6w which is 6 cell. Even though it was signed as $287 there was a bit of running around to confirm that price in their system. Plus the usual do you want antivirus/office/extended warranty with that ?

    • Tell them you'll have fries and a coke with it ;-)

  • I have called Bondi junction store to reserver for me,
when I arrived, they said sold out. They said their system shows that they have 5 left but actually they don;t have stocks………disappointed. waste my ticket.

  • City West still has two or three machines if anyone missed out

  • This store is useless, as are most HN I've been to. The last few times I've been in the sales person doesn't have a clue about what they sell, don't know or find it too much effort to look up their stock levels, and can't be bothered to put a price tag on most of their items (in the IT section).

Makes you wonder why we even have retailers … bring on stores like Costco in WA, I'm sick of paying extra in order to have to explain to staff which stock to 'fetch' from their secret stash out the back. Never seen a place with more staff - who do a better job at "looking busy" than actually assisting customers.
