Bellroy are somewhat regarded as "the go to wallet for travellers" I'm eyeing up the travel wallet with mini pen. Supposed to be good quality but always looking for feedback from anyone that owns one?

While I have shoped many times with Rush Faster, be aware that applying any coupon will make you ineligible for their free shipping.

I have 3 wallets from Bellroy. Two of them were the Slim Sleeve (one kind of died when I accidentally through it into the laundry machine), so I bought another one to replace it.

I also have the travel wallet with the mini pen (I assume you are referring to the leather one). Obviously, I love Bellroy wallets. The leather travel wallet is great because it's compact and I think the quality is top notch. My only critique for it would be that it may be a tad small if you are travelling with more than one passport. I have to now because one of my visas is attached to an expired passport.

    • Wow, just checked the Travel Wallet that I purchased 1 yr ago, and its $50 more expensive now lol. Bellroy has gotten expensive over the past year.

      • It's like an investment ;)

        • No doubt about it, they do make nice wallets. Love my travel wallet.

    • Yeah referring to the leather one http://bellroy.com/wallets/travel-wallet?color=cocoa I'm looking for something that can contain all my essentials (boarding passes, passport and some cards). Unfortunately don't have dual passports (not yet that is ;) )
Hmm just did a dummy checkout and you're right. Free shipping gone :(
On the upside, i just spoke to a friend and he just got send a new wallet (3 year warranty) due to some the die coming off. So great after sales support from Bellroy them self it seems

Yep, this is the one I bought in Slate Grey.

        My invoice (July 2014) says:
        - product price = $119.95
        - applied 20% off coupon ($23.99 off)
        - free shipping (back before Rush Faster removed free shipping from orders with coupons)

Definitely more expensive today, but as someone who has owned it for nearly 2 years, I would definitely go out and buy another one if I lost mine. I think you'll be happy with it.

    • I have the travel wallet as well. I find when opening and closing it frequently catches the corner of the passport (I have the frequent flyer passport). I agree with you that if it were just slightly larger, it would be much better.

    • Question regarding travel and wallets in general. Do you keep your passport in a wallet like the Bellroy Travel wallet throughout your whole trip. I'm thinking of doing a Topdeck tour in Europe and wasn't sure what people usually do with their passport when staying in hostels and the like.

      • I should clarify that I have the zippered travel wallet being the "Bellroy Elements Travel Wallet". I carry everything with me (including passport). One limitation is that it doesn't hold a lot of cash and no coins (unless you leave it loose in the wallet). I don't trust hotel safes and I wouldn't carry these in my back pocket (or some other pocket) where they could be easily picked. In saying that, on a night out on the town, I would only take cash with me.

  • Get a Saddleback Leather wallet, you won't regret it. They provide a 100 year warranty too :)

  • I have the note sleeve. Great wallet. Well made, slim, soft leather. Having said that it looks they have risen their price by around 30% as for the last two years they were $90 and are now $115

  • Hey OP,
I received the travel wallet as a birthday gift recently. I love it! Fits six cards, and was super slim :)

  • I have a Bellroy Hide & Seek, and it's been awesome. Get lots of compliments, and it has aged really well over the past 2 years.

EDIT: Like the others, I paid much less ($89), but with the coupon, it's sort of close.

  • I have the travel wallet and with one passport (what it was designed for I assume) it works really well. I keep all my cash, passport and boarding passes in it during the trip and the minipen is just tall enough to be usable for what is was designed for.

I also have the slim sleeve for day to day. Really nice wallet and it taught me to get rid of a whole bunch of cards/receipts that I had been carrying around for years for no reason.

    Another Bellroy fan!

Have the Note Sleeve and Travel Wallet… both get a lot of use. Highly recommended!

  • Own the travel wallet, handy pen, nice design but I could not figure out how to fit a boarding pass in one without folding it randomly in the middle, along the perforated line it was too big. Like the others, found it grabbed sometimes on the passport.

I assume you mean the zippered elements travel wallet, not the original travel wallet? The original one works fine if you put the boarding pass where you would put the notes. I don't have the elements travel, but I can see how you would have to fold it somehow to get it in there, which would be a bit annoying

      • Apologies, the elements is what I have, might have a look at this travel wallet, cheers.
