  • its cheaper on kogan ebay with cooling15.

i'm still waiting for mine to be posted though

    • Pretty sure the cooling15 code has expired…

      • ahh k.
well its not much difference in price and kogan takes week to deliver from ebay.
at least you guys will get it much faster

  • Not the cheapest, but not a bad deal either.

Picked up the same model but with 120GB SSD + 1TB and 4GB VRAM a few months ago during the CTECH20 ebay sale through FUTU online for $1440 delivered.

Nice and zippy. Only gripe I had with mine was random popping sounds which I managed to fix by disabling the sound power management in registry.

    • damn those are the two upgrades i wanted but it wasn't on special

    • Futu deal was definitely better. I picked up the 17" more less then this price.

  • 5400RPM? What year is this?

    • 4349

$1500 for a slow hard disk and no SSD? Pass

A dedicated ozbargainer would have acquired several spare SSDs by now

Cant have everything. 15" full HD, i7 6700, 960M, <2.5kg youll be hard pressed to find a laptop with all those under 1500.

The year that SSD's should be in all high end laptops.

  • Replace the SSD Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD that's currently on sale also on Kogan. Remove the 1TB to make it lighter. Good to go.

  • I replaced the stock 1TB HDD with at 1TB Crucial MX200 ($334) I bought last year on Amazon and added another 8GB of RAM ($74).

So the laptop actually cost me over $1800.

    • why did you replace the hdd if your original one had a ssd + 1TB?
can i ask which ram you brought? i am not sure what speed ram to buy as as it said o.c (over clocked)

      • It was a spare SSD that needed a new home.

The RAM I bought was DDR4-2133 (1066MHz) from Samsung. I opened up my laptop and found the RAM specs and bought the same one on eBay

Refurb of the next model up (which includes a 128GB SSD) is $1249. Also various other options available priced between $1050-1500+. Dunno how scratched up their refurbs can be, but it's factory refurb and comes with Asus warranty.

Edit: as for this coupon, the Atlas 2-in-1 looks okay. Basically an unbranded Asus t100 for $233. https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-atlas-2-1/
