Which Laundry Detergent/Liquid Do You Use?

We regularly see 50% off on Laundry Detergent/Liquid out of which common ones in $7.5-$8 mark are

  • Dynamo Ultra Laundry Liquid 2 Litre
  • Cold Power Laundry Liquid 2 Litre Or Powder 2 kg
  • Biozet Attack Laundry Liquid 2 Litre

Then on other hang BigW seels FAB 6L @ $22 etc.

Which Laundry Detergent/Liquid you use and why?

Comments

  • I buy the 4L ones from BigW after working out the best bang for buck per litre.

    • gr8, which one? FAB?

      • Last one was Radiant and just opened a Dynamo today.

        • Does it come out to be cheaper than Woolies 1/2 price specials? I assume Big W doesn't have 1/2 price specials.

        • @virhlpool:

It usually works out to about $5 per litre ($20 per bottle). If you look at the upcoming Woolies specials you'll see the Dynamo is half price at $5.50 per litre. Since I posted this in May last year, I have switched to using Biozet powder which we buy half price from wherever it's on special (coles or woolies). It seems to be good.

        • @bonezAU: And I always thought Omo was the most superior brand in detergents. Is Biozet better in your opinion if the price was the same?

        • @virhlpool: Biozet comes in lower than Omo in the Choice testing. I am not saying Biozet is the best thing I've ever used, I just stocked up a while back when it was half price. Once this runs out I'd certainly be up for giving the Aldi and Coles stuff a shot, as well as Omo if it's cheap enough.

The Biozet is definitely better than the Big W liquid I was using before (usually Radiant or Dynamo)

I am now having second thoughts before buying rigged pricing Colgate Palmolive detergents now on….

    • +3

Affected brands include Cold Power, Radiant and Omo.

      • I use Omo Ultimate Liquid.

It used to be on sale often at Colesworth for $10.99, in the past few months the cheapest I've seen is ~$16, occasionally by woolworths. Coles, uncharacteristicly, refuses to budge at $22. Wonder if the price fixing is still in effect at Coles?

  • Still have supplies of Tide. Hope P & G brings it back soon.

  • Biozet

  • What is the best washing powder / detergent on the market? There's a lot of cheap nasty ones but which one actually washes clothes the best? We currently use omo which does an ok job, but wondering if there is anything better

    • Choice says Omo is the best. Coles Ultra Concentrate is almost as good though (scored 1% worse than Omo) but is less than half the price.

  • Wwoolworths Select Clean, 2 kilo for $6. Good value and does the job.

  • +2

Aldi trimat or whatever the powdered one is.

  • biozet front load powder.

    buy it when on sale.

    • +1

      Me too.

Been using it for donkey's years. Never seen a need to change. When it is on deep discount I buy several boxes.

    Earth choice $2.30 per litre.

    • Choice rates Earth choice at 32nd.
For the best eco washing powder, Choice reckons "Ecover Universal Washing Powder" is your best bet.

Came in 13th. Much better than 32nd ;).

      • What was their testing criteria for the ariticle you're referring to?

        • I believe Choice test for effectiveness in treating & removing stains, & cost per use.

  • For liquids, I'd previously found Biozet to clean better than Radiant, Dynamo etc. One time when I couldn't find it at a reasonable price I got the Earth Choice to tide me over until a decent speicial came up. I could see no noticeable difference between the results, so now use Earth Choice. The only hassle I've found with their products is is you use the cap for measuring, it tends to leak down the sides of the bottle.

Biozet powder is the ONLY washing product I've found that deals with those horrible stains you can get from deodorants, and I'd tried everything on the market prior to someone here suggesting it for the purpose.

    • I have a bunch of business shirts with deodorant stains. Any idea where to get Biozet front loader cheaply? Looks like it's about $12 per kg at Coles.

4kg is on special at Woolies this week for $22.50. You'd never have to buy it again. lol

        • Thanks, will check it out.

    • I use earth in the 4 litre packaging,,,

I dispense it into a 600Ml bottle and then use the measuring cup… then chuck the cup into the machine with the clothes..

the plastic bottle then gets rinsed and discarded after a few uses and repeat,, no leaks. no mess

  • Choice reckons "ALDI Trimat Advanced Concentrate Front Loader Laundry Powder" is the best and that's what I've been using in my front loader since I got one and have no complaints.

  • Omo sensitive.

Doesn't smell perfumed and seems to do a good job. We buy the 5kg boxes, so pay $6/kg

  • BEST LAUNDRY LIQUID IS COLES EUCALYPTUS WOOL WASH 1.25L FOR ALL TYPE OF CLOTHING.
FRONT AND TOP WASHER FOR ABOUT $2 A BOTTLE WE GET GREAT BRESULTS AT ALL TIMES.
AND MOST IMPORTANT IT IS AUSTRALIAN MADE AND A GREAT AUSTRALIAN PRODUCT.

Used either Duo or Omo front loader ( when on special ) for years. Also add Vanish powder for stubborn stains - Hubby is a builder so his gear always looks as if it's been dragged through the dirt on the back of his truck !
However I discovered Coles own Lavender & Vanilla washing powder a few months ago - suitable for both front & top loaders, has pre treaters & costs apx. $7 for 2kg. Great results, very happy, good clean fresh smell too. Also comes in different fragrances - I just love the lavender one.
Still can't wait for Aldi to open here in Perth though & will definitely be trying out their Trimat advanced.
Also use Coles eucalyptus wool wash - but only for delicates.

  • I get white mark all over our clothes once washed. Noticeable on dark clothes. Any thoughts? I feel like I need to throw them back in washing machine with no washing liquid

    • +1

Maybe you're using too much detergent or are putting too many items into a load? Perhaps the machine isn't agitating properly? If that's not the case, try using a liquid detergent for dark clothes.

Was using Earth Choice but people in the office said my clothes smelt like Patchouli (a Hippie)
    Now use Biozet Attack.
    PS, i'm not a hippie

Another vote for ALDI Trimat powder, its all we use in our LG front loader.

We get the 'sensitive' variant though as the normal one seems to cause the wife to have itchy skin (no problems with it for myself or our toddler though).

    • Agree for powder, but for liquid, Aldi is no good.

  • not sure if u have seen the experiment they did on channel 7 or 9 cant remember. they found allmart from Aldi has the best result and i think coldpower came 2nd. omo came the 2nd last. there were 7 brands if my memory served me right.

  • Earth brand… 4litres for about $14 on sale. regular price is about $18
