  • Anywhere cheaper to get a good band? My original band is kaput and I'd prefer to buy something more reliable like a leather strap or steel one.

Apparently the Mi Band 2 with a screen and physical button is being announced on May 10. It should be the same base price in China too.

    • +2

      That's awesome - I love physical buttons.

    • Yeah can't wait for it to be released.

Hopefully it has a battery that lasts as long.

      • Doubt it.

        • Deal breaker for me.

If the recharging is weekly, I will give it a skip.

Every 2 weeks, then I might consider.

        • @GameChanger:

I get two months out of my original Mi Band. I use it for activity tracking and the vibrating alarm a few times per week.

  • Great find thanks OP.

  • Delivery Time:39-60 days

What…? Might give this one a miss

    • And a 7 day processing time, what a joke!!

    • Probably won't be that bad - that is worst case. Their rating for Shipping Speed is 4.4 / 5 Having said that, I agree it's not going to arrive next week!

    • +9

If you can't wait, pay $17.99 and get TOLL delivery in about a week

    • we should be thankful to them at least for making those information available for us to see without hiding!

Has anyone used both the Mi Band and Mi Band 1S? I've got the original and wondering if it's worth upgrading… The iOS app at the moment is quite buggy.

    • When did the iOS app get buggy? Recently?

I moved to Android and my app is playing up compared to perfection on iOS.

      • +2

Ever since they updated to version 2 and updated the UI visually. Data isn't synced as reliably especially sleeping data.

        • Thanks for that information I just moved to Android and thought the data unreliability was due my band/app.

Its really annoying as my monthly total/weekly total is added up wrong. I hope this can be fixed soon.

        • Where are we headin??? We need data for sleeping too now? isn't "I slept for 8 hours today" enough of the data already..
Infact, I cant even comprehend with all the fuss about the "steps" these days.. I reckon that's what getting old means.. :-/

          @FindMeADeal:

Quality of Sleep - Deep vs Light vs Awake.

        • I have the 1s and think the sleep tracking isn't that great. I definitely woke during the night and the app is showing that I didn't wake… I'd say wait on it until it has better app support. Also, as far as I can tell the only app that does continuous heart rate tracking is mi band tools (3rd party).

        • @Steptoe: I think I would know that better than my "band", if I slept sound or was I a nuisance to my partner all night.

@FindMeADeal: Some people get a kick out of neurotically monitoring themselves with instruments that are very innaccurate.

        • @FindMeADeal:
This way it saves me emailing the Chinese Govt.

    Or $11.74 US with Cashback.

To think that this originally sold for $34.99 US. Amazing how low Xiaomi will go for suppliers now.

    • They're getting rid of stock.

      • It's a combination of that and Xiaomi charging less as the hype dies down.

Mi Band 2 has a striking resemblance to the Prime band though.

        • hmm thats interesting. 15 day standby time would suggest it's Xiaomi.

What app does that use I wonder?

        • @GameChanger: No clue on the app, but Xiaomi don't make their products. Companies they've invested in do.

Huami is an OEM/ODM manufacturer for fitness bands and they made the Mi Band. Xiaomi just invested a lot money into them and slapped their logo on it.

  • Does anyone else have issues with the Mi Band not receiving notifications when synced to the Samsung Galaxy S6?

I have to turn on and off notifications for it every few hours else it stops working.

    • Have you checked whether Smart Manager is "optimising" the Mi band app?
It's in battery section in the setting, basically it stops apps from running in background.

      • Thanks for the suggestion mate, I've had it excluded from the optimised apps for a while now.

Looks like its 18.99 now 😯

  • most stuff on aliexpress is fake, a good knockoff but fake

  • It was great until the app update. Mine no longer tracks sleep. I just got the Jawbone Up3
