OP - did you have any Dropbear mattresses there??

  • +1

They're actually really highly reviewed on product review

    http://www.productreview.com.au/p/koala-mattress.html

I did just read this comment though, "Beware - after you purchase the mattress they email you offering payment for positive reviews, which explains the suspiciously high ratings."

Yep, it's been discussed here before. Don't trust any of those reviews!

i bought this mattress and received it on the 4/4. So far its been great. however they have stopped offering payment for reviews since April? And the positive reviews are still coming in

personally, this mattress is nice. its comfortable and now i dont wake up when my partner moves around the bed anymore. will be keeping it

for more honest reviews i looked up Whirlpool forums as i myself felt a bit apprehensive about trusting the reviews on productreview.com but the general consensus is that it is still a good mattress : http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2473017

      • Had a look myself. Couldnt find anything to fault it and plus it seems to work with electric blanket… So… I guess there is no real reason to not get a new mattress from them?

        • i'm satisfied with mine :)

I got mine in February so I'm guessing they must have stopped just after that person wrote the BEWARE review.

I love my mattress and would have written a good review anyway, but that would have sweetened the deal. I was looking forward to my gift card but of course, someone JUST HAD to ruin it for the rest of us :( THANKS A LOT SPOILSPORTS!

Well, it's the best mattress I've slept on, I've never loved sleeping so much hahaha

        • Same! Haha i was just waiting for the offer of gift card but got a referral program instead.

        • @kza2610:

          So Un-Strayan! :(

  • What's everyone's opinion on these mattresses? Been looking at this or Greywing.

    • +2

Haven't tried these, but I find it suss that they do not explain a single thing about how these things are made, or from what.
I bought an Ergoflex recently myself, because they are very explicit about the material and density (being equivalent to Tempur), so you know what you're getting. The "sleep" coupon gets you free shipping, making it cheaper than this deal.

I did some research recently as I was after a mattress for a spare bed. Some companies tell you more info about their mattresses than others. From what I found, the materials are (from bottom of mattress to top; MF = memory foam, HD = high density, PU = polyurethane):

        • Ecosa - HD foam, gel infused MF, Dunlop latex
        • Ergoflex - HD foam, air flow layer, MF (9cm, 3rd gen 85kg/cu.m)
        • Greywing - 17cm HD PU foam, 4cm MF, 4cm latex
        • Koala - 3 layers of PU foam (in their words: "three unique layers of technologically advanced, modern polyurethane foam")
        • Onebed - 18cm PU Foam, 4cm MF, 4cm Latex
        • Ozmattress MOD - Pocket spring (Dynacoil + Xtra middle and Edge Support), HD foam, latex
        • Ozmattress Supra - Pocket spring (Dynacoil + Xtra middle and Total Edge Support), HD foam, latex/MF
        • Ozmattress Grandmaster - Pocket in pocket spring (Rhinocoil + Xtra middle and Total Edge Support), HD foam, MF, quantum gel
        • Sleeping Duck - Pocket spring, HD foam (modular for changeable firmness), gel memory foam+latex+bamboo fabric

I actually ended up getting an Ikea Hovag (pocket spring, no other fancy layers) which was half the price of the cheapest of those listed above for a single mattress. A few days later I saw that Aldi have some "premium mattresses" (pocket spring + MF) on sale tomorrow that's cheaper again!

        • That's an awesome summary - great work. You should perhaps publish this as an informational post in the forums.

@Make it so: Thanks for the feedback. An updated and expanded post is now up: link.

@quop: Great contribution. No doubt it will benefit many Ozbargainers.

Bloody hell. how many of these online-based matress companies are there, all selling the exact same thing?! Can't keep up.

    • +1

      This might help?

  • the $75 is the normal promotion they always seem to have, doen't relate to referral at all.
every few weeks its a different code, thats all.

  • I like how they only have one mattress to choose from (instead of 3 or 50)

  • still overpriced.

  • I was just on the site & got a popup of code JUNE100 for $100 off for the month of June
