  • how do you find these cheap flights?

    Do you set alerts?

      They're on the IWTF website.

Top posters use website scrapers, as well as trawl through junk mail. It's highly efficient

  • Are there ever any cheap one way deals, or only return?

  • Thanks TA

So the Sydney to San Francisco price is for when you use a Visa debit card,
but the Melbourne to San Francisco price is for when you use a Visa Credit card?
    Just trying to understand?

If you plan on actually staying in San Fran, those flight prices are also about the price of 1 night in a not-shithole in San Fran too, just a word of warning.

Stayed in San Fran last year in Lombard St…at the Lombard Motor Inn. Was about $150 a night…not fancy but great value.

    • I used AirBnB to stay in a really wonderful place in Hayes Valley. $200+ a night for three people so not cheap but a really nice apartment.

  • United still not have any entertainment onboard?

    • +1

      This ^.

Flew over to San Fran on a 40yr old Boeing 747 rattler with United. One TV in middle of plane, and basically nothing else. Extra hundo or so for better seating and features is worth it for a 15hr flight. had my iPad but United have a tired fleet IMO.

Yea i'd rather pay an extra hundy for entertainment too. Only so much conversation I can have with my wife before one of us will need a parachute…

    • Your about 3 years too late as the 747 were taken off the Melbourne routes replaced with the 777, now brand new 787 all with in seat TV.
      Sydney is also 787.

Honestly, I would pay a little bit extra and fly QF A380.

  • Would 2 weeks be too short to go to Sanfran (1st timer)? Wanted to go to disney etc??

    • Disney's in LA so maybe San Fran wouldn't be the right place to fly into. Also cheaper flights to LA.

If Disney and the attractions around the area were all you wanted to do 2 weeks is fine I reckon (depends what you're into - Universal Studios is alright, Hollywood worth a look). Depends how long you want to spend there.

Don't know too much about San Fran so can't help you with attractions there.

  • Any Sydney to Tokyo cheap fares?
