    • What I got is different….

  • This week, I was able to buy a Yoga 3 Pro 512 GB SSD for AUD 1199.00 from Lenovo Australia. But, it's on http://www3.lenovo.com/au/en/aupremium/. I believe it's a good deal.

    • How did you get the deal?

      • Lenovo gave this special discount (AUD 700 less) to the employees at my workplace. aupremium is for that purpose only. They give these special offers through employee benefits at some if not most of the workplaces.

      • So far, I am very happy with the performance of Yoga 3 pro. I find it easily handles, chrome open with 30+tabs, Couple of programming IDEs running and Lightroom converting 500+ raw photos. That's what I expected out of it. Wanted a portable one to use during my daily train commute. Very happy with it and bought one more for a friend of mine too.

        • I doubt I could get used to the lack of the F-key row!

  • doh this deal expire tomorrow thursday 9am sydney time, no chance i can check in person at jbhifi. hmmmmmm hard decision was looking to get NUC and 24" monitor

    • maybe order it tomorrow morning, pop into JB, and cancel if you no longer want it. Remember you can cancel before it has shipped, and 9am Syd is midnight in UK, so you should have until the afternoon to make your decision.

    • Can this laptop play 4k videos to big screens as well? NUC might be a better choice if you want for your home theatre.

  • Thanks, get one

  • If we buy this will the ATO recognise it if we claim it for taxes? Not sure if it has to be AU-based in order for us to claim taxes..?

    • You can claim it as a deduction in your income tax return - it doesn't matter that it was purchased from overseas.

  • its now back to its original price..

  • Order was cancelled for… whatever reason. They have told me to place a new order… really. Anyone else have that issue?

    • That sucks. Have you tried talking to Amazon chat, they are pretty helpful most of the time. They should be able to sell it to you for the same price.

      When did you order it?

    • My order was also cancelled due to some Amazon security concerns. Did chat with them to confirm my order but still got cancelled.

      • Pretty much the same, going to chat with them again.
EDIT: their getting their account specialists into it (again?), wondering if they just want an excuse to cancel orders =/

      • any progress on your situation?

    • Same here. They deleted the order without trace due to 'suspicious' with my account. Told to reorder. Contacted Amazon to honor original price. They refused. Completely ridiculous that they can do this, and also to read that they did that repeatedly here. Lodged a formal complaint over chat. Do we have any other recourse?

      • Not going to bother myself, has taken a chip out of my loyalty to amazon though. Still sounds like they did it on purpose, especially when they are being this constantly difficult.

        • They lost a sale on purpose?

        • @eug: Possible if they under-estimated the popularity.

        • @Lord_Sif: Large discounts like that are normally promos run by the distributor. I'm pretty sure Amazon doesn't make 145 pounds profit per laptop.

It's probably more likely that Amazon can't get the promo price from the distributor anymore since it is past the promo period.

  • So… Do we just require a UK AC conv adapter to use the charger ?

    • Yes you only need a UK to Australia power plug adapter. No transformer needed.

  • Wow…expecting my order to get cancelled then =(. I only see $1.98 has been charged on my CC so far. Strange.

    • +2

They do this to make sure your credit card is valid. They will charge the rest once the laptop is posted

      • Oh right! Here's to hoping then!

  • Mine was been posted last night

  • Have received mine. Looks nice, but need an uk to au adaptor and usb docking station, any suggestions?

  • Received mine today, that was really quick delivery!

Looks very nice. But one thing I was expecting was a backlit keyboard (as in the product description), but it doesn't appear to be in this version? Is this the same for everyone else?

    • +1

yep doesnt have it, description is wrong.
Also mentioned on lenovos website under reviews.

Apparently none of the 11" models have a backlit keyboard.

Amazon is happy to send a replacement for free and send the old one back(this is just wasting time if you dont want it) or give a refund and send it back (they will reimburse postage costs)

      • Legend! You know everything XD Thanks for the answers.

      • What replacement? None 11 inches has back-lit you said? So amazon will replace with?

        • +1

That's why I said there's no point doing the replacement.

Amazon don't realise that they don't actually come with a backlight, they are just going by the product description.

  • Does anyone know about warranty will be covered in Australia or have to send them back in uk? Thanks.

    • Amazon said if lenovo don't honour the warranty in Australia, they have their own 1 year warranty on all electrical items. So you can send it back to Amazon to organise or a replacement in the UK (postage will be reimbursed, provided something is actually wrong with it).

      • yeah i got the same thing. chatted with amazon: 1 year with amazon UK. after than your own.
then chated with lenovo australia, they said no cant honour UK models.

  • Just received my laptop. fast little thing when it works, but is anyone here experiencing lag when using the mouse pad? I sometimes get a 3 sec lag, dont know why.

    • No lag on mine. I updated win 10 so maybe try that

  • I love mine, especially the colour

  • Fixed key positions for @, #, etc. by changing the keyboard layout to US in Control Panel > Language.

But also wanted the backslash key next to the annoyingly undersized left shift to act as a shift key. Was able to remap it with SharpKeys (click Add, click Type Key on the left, hit the backslash key then click OK; repeat on the right for the left shift key; write to registry and reboot). Works fine as shift for typing but did encounter some oddness in File Explorer - the remapped backslash key wouldn't work for selecting multiple files like the actual shift key.

  • Does anyone know how to solve the flickering of the screen at random times when unplugged. It's really annoying.

  • Hi all, have been using the laptop for a while and just started to notice it lags when I opens about 10 tabs in Chrome with youtube playing - CPU was at about >60% and video/sound choppy.

I think I have updated all in Windows update - not sure what I can do to fix? I tried to open the video on IE instead of Chrome and still doing it. I thought it shouldn't be doing that with the hardware we have in this laptop…
