Seems like a good deal. The reviews aren't very impressive though http://www.laptopmag.com/reviews/laptops/lenovo-yoga-700 especially the battery life.
    The Pros
Sturdy design; Strong performance; Optional discrete graphics
    The Cons
Below-average battery life; Shortened Backspace and Right Shift keys
    Verdict
The Yoga 700 is a capable 2-in-1 that offers snappy performance in a lightweight 14-inch design, but competitors last longer on a charge.

    • I think the review is on the 14 inch model, not the 11 inch here.

    • +3

7 hour battery life is not that bad though

      • +3

Here's a review of the 11.6 Interesting that its charger has an integrated power brick.

        • What is power brick?

        • @fm: Its a plastic 'block'(brick) that is located in the power cord that contains the transformer to convert the AC from mains power to DC, in which devices such as laptop function on.

        • @TheOneWhoKnocks: so all laptops have power brick right? I don't get it…

        • @fm: I think what he means by 'integrated' is that the transformer is actually built into the chargers plug.

        • +1

@fm: I don't think oztonyau described it correctly. The charger doesn't have an integrated power brick, the charger is an integrated power brick. I would have just called it a phone-charger-style charger. :)

        • @eug: It's not my description. It's in the cited review: "The charger has an integrated power brick, too, so it’s not too much trouble to carry with you."

        • @oztonyau: It definitely didn't look like a quote. In any case that's not an accurate description for that charger.

A review for this model suggests battery life is better than the 14 inch, but screen quality is disappointing depsite FHD.

      • Thanks. That review is slightly better though 3 stars is hardly a great buy. But for that price may be it is worth a go.

  • Do you think its possible to use Premiere pro to edit some 1080p videos with this?

    • +5

i would doubt it with the M processor, it may be "possible" but i cant see it being something anyone would want to put themselves through :P

    • I would not do it on this laptop though you might get away with it for occasional video edits. If doing it for a living then go for something better.

    • Yes it will be fine. It'd be fine on a PC you bought 10 years ago.

  • Is the tablet part removable? Or you can only flip back the keyboard?

    • I think it's only flip back the keyboard from this picture

  • Yoga

    • +1

Yeah, we're all waiting for Lenovo to bring out the Pilates.

  • This looks like a great deal. Although the 4K screen version for ~$900 available a few weeks ago, might have been better (albiet more expensive).

    • +8

Not sure that 4k would be necessary on an 11" screen. I think it would suck power without providing much benefit. Your opinion may vary.

  • +1

Thank you OP. Bought one :)

I have been looking for one like this for a while now. Great price. At least $400 cheaper than Aussie price.

  • +9

    does this have global warranty?

    • +1

want to know this as well

      • Me too.

      • +2

Apparently, it does have international warranty according to this:
        https://support.lenovo.com/au/en/documents/pd004172

        • not sure about that. the chat rep said yes international but only for thinkpad series not yoga

        • @eisniwre:

Chat wouldn't give me an accurate answer without the serial number.. I would assume there will be no global warranty on these units..

        • @jbnz: Thats a deal breaker for me.

        • +1

@jbnz: I have one for work (not this one) and it died while I was in Ireland last year. They specifically said that the orange ones do not have international warranty.

        • @MadamePolyglot:

Thanks for some clarification.. Doesn't sound great.. I did however factor this risk and decided to take a risk and order one..

What model Lenovo was yours that died?

        • @jbnz: dam. That's a deal breaker for me too :( just not worth the risk/headache

        • @MadamePolyglot: I think you meant the Lemon ones didn't have the international warranty? 😉

        • @MadamePolyglot: I thought you meant the apple ones have international warranty

        • +5

@MadamePolyglot: You would've had no problem getting a green one fixed in Ireland…

        • @StewBalls:

          haha…

  • Looks cool

  • +1

Is the SSD and Ram replaceable/up-gradable?

    • +1

ram prob not, but already 8gb anyway, enough
ssd, looks like yes! amazon review:

It offers Windows 10 Home and a few Lenovo programs. Sadly it has but 128GB M.2 SATA SSD mine is a Liteon affair. For just surfing this is fine. You can add an external USB hard drive for extra space and the 2.5" ones are quite small. You could take the back off and swap the SSD for say a Samsung 500GB M.2 SSD (as I have done) which would increase speed too but of course add to the price…

  • +8

The price of computers like this is incredible considering how much smartphones cost.

    • +4

Maybe it's the other way around that the price of smart phones is incredibly expensive :p

      • +3

I agree. Something like a smartphone should cost at least half of today's standards especially considering they last no more than 2 years.

    • incredible cheap or expensive? i think incredible cheap considering iphone cost $1200

      • +1

        I meant incredibly cheap.

    • +1

Not necessarily. Lenovo K80M has 4GB of ram, 64GB rom, 1080 screen - and is $275. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 has a 1080 screen, 2GB ram, 16GB rom, and is $240.

It's the big name brands who are ripping us off.

      • There's more to a phone's price than just the cost of parts though. R&D into latest technologies like super AMOLED or wide-gamut LCD screens, better camera sensors and lenses, high-speed UFS storage, thin but solid designs, high-speed/wireless charging, advertising campaigns, cost of local support, cost of staff to produce firmware updates, etc.

      • Terrible comparison given they aren't the same device form.

Or even the same hardware platform.

        • The person I replied to had directly made the comparison between laptops and phones. I just pointed out that some phones are cheaper than others.

  • +2

    I'm really tempted. Thanks OP.

    My first orange laptop!

  • +6

Do bear in mind this will have a UK keyboard so it will take a little getting used to. It's not hard.

    • +1

      Brits have soft, fragile fingers?

    • +3

Ouch.. the difference in the enter key position is pretty much a deal breaker..

There no way I am going to unlearn 20 years of touch typing to save a Few hundred bucks…

I can imagine it giving me hours and hours of frustration..

But is a very very good price the machine

    • +1

Oh no, I already bought one :( and I hate typing on UK-Keyboard

      • +1

You can probably cancel if it's not shipped yet.

        • +1

Thanks for the tip. Tho it is a great price that makes it hard to refuse this deal :(

Anyway it is for my kid so not my problem I guess :)

        • @dealspider:

Not fussed about the warranty ?

        • @jbnz: hmmm… I am but at this price I am not very concerned about it, fingers-crossed nothing happen.

        • +4

@dealspider: You're going to need those crossed fingers with that keyboard. :)

  • Is it coming up as £339.99 for anyone else?

    • +1

Thats the total before VAT is removed, the final price will be 301.08 at checkout.

  • I am getting a a price of AUD 615.02 incl delivery. Am I doing something wrong or need to select any option.

    • +1

maybe login first with your australian account

      Order Summary
      Items: GBP 283.33
      Postage & Packing: GBP 17.85
      Total before VAT: GBP 301.18
      VAT: GBP 0.00
      Order Total: GBP 301.18
Change payment total to AUD 615.02. By checking this box, you have the option to pay in your card currency for eligible orders.

dont use amazon conversion, pay in gbp using 28degree cc

    • My total order also shows $615.02 as well. I will see how my banks conversion rate goes

      • +1

Yes it's Amazon's exchange rate (they charge a lot extra if you pay in AUD). If you have a fee free card such as 28 degrees, it is recommended to pay to pay in GBP to get the conversion of $592.

        • Agreed - dont pay in AUD - pay in native currency and let the bank convert it. Use Google to convert the GBP total to AUD to see approx how much it costs.

If you use 28 Degrees or Coles Mastercard I think there is no currency conversion fee.

        • How about ING debit card? Is there a currency conversion fee?

  • fyi in australia lenovo official website this has $150 cash efpos card so total is about $350 more than this deal incl shipping

    • -2

You're buying from UK not Australia. Someone confirm this doesn't apply?

      • +2

gee i just mentioned alternative for people want to buy locally, there is currently offer for this model if you buy from australia lenovo.
if you buy from uk then the price is there, as per poster.

  • I really want one of these, too bad I already bought the HP Spectre x2…

    • +1

I want one even though I have two tablets and a macbook pro already

  • Does anyone know if this laptop would have enough spec to do basic video editing? Btw, the videos are from a gopro hero4 silver (1080p60). Thanks!

  • +1

    Good enough for Photoshop editing?

    • +1

I recently got a Dell Venue pro 11 with broadwell m5y10 and 4GB RAM and it exceeded my expectations for running lightroom crunching 36mp raw files.

  • Anyone had experience returning items back to Amazon UK in the event of a DOA ?

    • +1

Ive sent a Kindle back to Amazon US, and a ~10 KG Yamaha AV receiver back to Amazon Italy.

Kindle was free, I think they sent a prepaid box or something.
The Yamaha receiver was a bit more work… I had to pay for return shipping (and was several hundred dollars!) but they reimbursed me.

      • That isn't too bad I suppose…..

  • +1

Will 11" be a bit small for word editing and web browsing? Anyone has experience?

    • Size does not matter ;-)

      • +1

        it's how you use it… ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

        • +1

Yeah you can plug it in an external display for that purpose

        • @CandyMan: as long as you have access to the display whenever you feel like editing.

  • Pretty good price on the Yoga 3 pro too (around $1k after VATs): https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00TLMV2J6/ref=psdc_429886031_t3…
Only thing to note is the relatively low clock speed on the CPU

    • And GST?

  • Hmmm.. Few pros with the biggest con being an absence of warranty (not confirmed)..

Checked one out in person and was impressed enough to cave and order one. :-)

    • Where to see in person?

      • JBHIFI

  • Tested one of more expensive models at HN and the overall impression was rather poor. Though at this price, I am tempted to give it a go.

  • +1

Is this what the keyboard will look like.
    http://imgur.com/Cy02ein

Edit: Amazon chat confirmed it would be this keyboard

    • Really? But this is not the UK version keyboard

    • -1

so it uses us keyboard layout?

      • From the chat:

12:02 Alka (CSA) : I've checked the item will come with the acclaimed AccuType keyboard.
12:02 Alka (CSA) : It means you will get the keyboard just as your second link
