Great for many uses around the home & garage

I have been looking for a more efficient method of drinking beer.

the business end of the funnel isn't wide enough ;)

        That's what she said…

      • Nothing wrong with slow and steady!

weird, i haven't seen mobil 1 oils in their stores for years (!?)

also, the SOS self-amalgamating tape is a good deal at 50% off (they're normally $11.59)

Nice funnel. But should I stop using my cut-off softdrink bottle?

    • +1

nope..the bottle has a lid to stop spills…much more convenient.😁

  • Drat! I bought this for $3 last week. Wonder if I can get refunded the difference even though I didn't have my Club Plus card with me at the time…

    • +1

probably not. but perhaps you could try returning it for a refund/store credit if they'll let you. they generally don't allow change of mind returns

      • SCA has let me return unused things several times.

        • i got a lot of grief at one store, even though the item was unopened and i had the receipt. although the woman i dealt with seemed a little unhinged and kept sighing with exaggerated exasperation. ymmv :)

You can verify your account with your mobile number next time you dont have your card with you.

  • if i want to change the oil for my motorbike, what equipments should i have/buy? the funnel?

    • +1

don't have a bike, but i needed the following for oil changes on my car:
-jack and jack stands (n/a for bikes)
      -lotsa rags
-socket wrench and the correct socket sizes for your sump plug and/or oil filter housing (if not the spin-on type)
      -new oil filter
-fresh motor oil in the appropriate quantity (i haven't heard of any car engine oils that are suitable for bikes, even the 4 stroke ones)
      -drain pan
-empty container for disposing oil safely
-funnel, unless you're using 1 liter/quart bottles and are 100% confident you won't spill any oil over your engine block

tl;dr buy the funnel. it's $1 and will save a lot of time from having to degrease your engine after a spill

if i want to change the oil for my motorbike, what equipments should i have/buy? the funnel?

      1. Motorbike
      2. Oil
      3. Oil Filter
      4. Socket set/shifting spanner
      5. Funnel
      6. Oil pan/tray/bucket
      7. Oil filter wrench/strong grip/screwdriver and hammer
      • time to go shopping. need (always want) a shifting spanner. any suggestions about a cheap (ie. costless) oil tray?

        • +1

I use a disposable aluminum baking trays for taking oil out of my bike.

My filter is a 401, cheaper to get them from the dealer compared to online.

you'll also need to watch this most excellent video on how to change the oil on your bike: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ft1IkFZkJts

      • thanks a ton!

    • Depends if it's a two or four stroke

      • 4 stroke 250cc

if i want to change the oil for my motorbike, what equipments should i have/buy? the funnel?

If you need to ask that question, you REALLY shouldn't be attempting it.

  • Can someone point me in the direction of good full synthetic oil for a 4 stroke scooter? Is the funnel worth getting?

  • Great i need some oil for a service perfect timing

this is what i use and its brilliant

    • 25% off makes it a fairly good price.

      You drive a diesel?

      • Shame I've just seen the no diesel tandc I guess no service for me this weekend.

  • +3

FYI it excludes all diesel oils :<

    • Penrite (other brands may does too) has some oil capable of both petrol and diesel, I guess those are eligible for the discount still?

      • yeah, only the diesel specific oils are excluded, probably because they are still very new and expensive….

If you drive a normal diesel without a DPF, most of these oils are fine

  • AWESOME - an excellent quality elephant mask!

Much better price than the horse head too.

  • Great for giving yourself an enema to rehydrate Bear Grills styles

  • Can I sign up for Club Plus, and get the discount in store without actually having received the card? Assuming the card won't get here before the deal ends…

    • +2

yes. sign up online, wait for your confirmation email to get your $10 credit. when you go into the store, tell the staff that you haven't got your physical card yet and get them to look up your account by email.

        Thanks mate

      • Picked up Valvoline Synpower XL-III for $34.82 - on sale for $59.99, discounted to $44.82 for members, with a $10 new member discount for a total of $34.82. Whether you count the $5 membership or not, a bargain compared to the $84.99 (in store) / $79.99 it costs at Autobarn.

Shame SCA don't stock Liqui Moly oils, otherwise I'd be all over this like a rash.

    • the store i just went to in WA has very limited stock of Liqui Moly fully synthetic oils in 1L bottles

    • What makes Liqui Moly better than other full synth oil? Penrite makes pretty good oil, they're Australian, they know the climate here, and they're more affordable compare to Liqui?

  • Bought 1 today for $2.95…. damn.
