[WA] Young Driver 4WD Awareness Course (17-19yos) - Free @ Eureka 4WD

130

Just saw this come up on Facebook, what a good idea :)

Limited places, so if you know of someone that fits the age bracket and wants to learn how to properly drive their 4WD, sign them up :)

The course is based around our Recreational ”Introductory Course” but focuses on young drivers that have just passed their road license and who may own or be required to drive a 4WDrive vehicle. The day will start at our training centre in Bellevue with a presentation about the basics of 4WD systems with plenty of practical tips from seating posture and dealing with wildlife whilst driving; to gravel road safety and how to cross water safely. The theory session will be followed by a practical hands-on driving event in a controlled environment incorporating a series of driving exercises including driving on sand, the importance of tyre pressure reductions and how to self-recover a bogged 4WDrive. It will include the proper technique and method for the safe use and correct attachment of a recovery strap when needing to retrieve a bogged vehicle.

  • I did an all day course when I got my first 4wd. Realised how much I didn't know and how much I was doing wrong.
Highly recommend to anyone that plans to even use a dirt road in their fourbie.

  • I would definitely recommend this for people who don't think they need it
Mum and Dad with 4wd and a teenager even the most responsible kids will benefit big time
Just wish it was free for kids who never grew up

    • i don't even have a 4wd and i'd love to learn how to drive one properly. also some lessons on towing would be good, too

      • You can't tow in the UK without doing a course now. I did some on a farming course, when you can practice in a huge paddock it's quite quick to learn.

I'd love to do the 4wd course though, about to pick one up and take it off road, I learnt a lot on a farm but there was a tractor to bail me out there.

        • makes sense doesn't it. it's too risky to let the uninitiated try to figure it out on their own.

  • I wish it was for anyone with a license, inc. L Platers :3333
Maybe there'll be another one next year, maybee

    • +1

Check the dates, there's already January and April next year ;)
