Handy if 100% travelling to Gold Coast in the next 6 weeks and aiming to visit the theme parks. +1

  • I just got a email from Village Roadshow offering the VIP Magic pass (4 parks + 1 free invite for a single pass to a friend) valid until June 2017. Price was $79 which I though its a much better deal.

I am a prevoious pass holder, so likely its a targetted deal.

    • Would appreciate if you shared the link, didn't get the offer to my email.

      • I'm getting some 4 park VIP tickets for $77 via a bulk order through work.

    • Yeah we saw that too, great deal, but I believe its only to renew an old pass, not for new passes unfortunately.

    • Could you please PM me some more info? I have a pass that expires June 2016 but didn't get any email about this and I'm going back in August. Thank you!

We went to wet n wild yesterday $79. Totally not worth it only 5 rides open. Everything was broken or very rundown.

    • I noticed this too. A month ago. Wasted my time and money.

I went to Dreamworld 2 months ago. Half of the things were closed as it was 'off peak'.

        • This was school holidays not "off peak" and certainly not an off peak price. Dreamworld is going down hill though.

    • We went back in February 2 or 3 times and really enjoyed it. A couple of slides were closed but not too many. We went on school days so expected some closures.

      • We went on school days so expected some closures.

Why? Wouldn't you expect them to have scheduled maintenance outside of school holidays? o_0

          school days

        • We went outside of holidays and weekends.

It wasn't so much maintenance, but scaling back due to the small crowds I believe. For example on the tyre ride that has two slides on the same tower, only one side was running. Given there was relatively short waits we figured it was reasonable.

Calypso Lagoon also didn't open until about mid day each time we went from memory.

Sucks that I'll be there on July 2nd with my family.. :( damn it

Sorry to hear that. Family holidays are the worst.

    • I'll be buying the four local passes which include a day entry for a "friend", so I'm happy to sell you those at a discounted rate.

      • Nah.. its ok.. thanks. I'll just buy a regular family ticket (wife and two kids as well).

Well, have a fantastic holiday, it's such a great place with so much for the kids to do. Check out some of the Groupon and Scoupon offers too…they usually have movies, putt putt and the like discounted. You might want to pack snacks for the theme parks, the food prices is usually the killer.

        • @LXE3: Thanks! I lived up there before but my kids never been. Hence the trip

      • Where does it say you can bring a friend? For free I'm assuming? Or a discounted rate?

        • It's one of the local renewal deals on at the moment. It's $79 with a take a friend for free pass valid to 30 June. The other one is $73 buy at the gate, buy two get one free. I'll probably get that one if I can find someone who wants one pass as I only need 5.

  • Awesome - heading to Qld on Monday for a holiday. Thanks OP!

    • @woodlake. Are they digital tickets or will it be posted out?

  • In Broadwater right now on hols. Best dreamworld and movie world rides open. Wet n wild is a bit crap. Whitewater world is much better but for some reason the water there is COLD AS . SeaWorld only has one good open ride, the Storm.
