Was looking for a cheap ps3 controller to play uncharted game to catch up with the whole thing before I buy the 4th installment
This is cheapest I could found in a brick and mortar store.

  • Don't buy Uncharted 4 if you have ps3. It is for ps4 only.

    • I'm guessing he has both PS3 and PS4.

      • Yes
I actually had all four consoles thanks to Ozbargain, bought three games long time ago but only played the first one for 30 mins or so.

    • OP is buying the 3rd party PS3 controller (which I wouldn't recommend compared to the official DS3 controller) for Uncharted 1-3 on PS3.

To others, note that you can get the Nathan Drake Collection on PS4 which consists of Uncharted 1-3 and has improved graphics and frame rate.

It was nice to play through Uncharted 4 and seeing all the references to the previous instalments.

      • No online on PS4 though.

op, is that an official controller or 3rd party?

Going by the tag, i would say it's a third party Futuretronics controller.

  • Is this able to plug into a PC via USB, and if so, could PC owners use it to play PC games?

    • Can't say but has cable with so I think it should work

    • Yes, but with a fair amount of playing around to get it working with SCP Driver (PS3/PS4 controller drivers, alternative to MotionInJoy). I'd say it's worth the effort if you like the design of the PS3 controller though. Can confirm this works on the official ones, but not so sure about third party.

I realise this is for PS3 but would it work with a PS4?

And if not, any idea what a PS4 controller would cost ?

    • I don't think so Ps4 controller works on a ps3 though.

      Excellent deal.

      • They do, but they have to be plugged in

        • mine PS4 controller works wirelessly
however it is annoying though because
          - You need to connect it to accessories in the menue every time the PS3 turns on (it doesnt remember)
          - The PS home button doesn't work so need to use another controller to bring up the system menus

        • @carlb: and i don't think it works for every game

The other way round, actually was my question . Will this PS3 controller work with my PS4 ?

    • Won't work on your PS4 unless you're willing to connect it via a tablet/android device (you need the PS4 remote play and the sixaxis control apps if you don't have a Sony device). Latency won't be great of course, but it's workable.

I don't own this controller but in my experience with previous 3rd party controllers, the stick is very rigid and nowhere as smooth as the official dualshock one. Console controller is 1 of the rare cases where official is the better choice

I just don't bother with third party controllers anymore. Don't matter for what console - old or current gen. Im sure there are some good ones out there but I've been duped too many times over the years with the promise that they'll be just as good as originals but at a lower price.

There are things i can save money as a gamer but a first party controller is not one of them, unless they're on sale.

I would have up voted this deal if it was the official ones

i have one of these and it is useless

no sixaxis so doesnt work well with uncharted
the joy sticks are not analogue having only 8 possible directions making aiming in uncharted impossible to create precision

    no force feedback
no analogue buttons unlike ds3 you cannot press the X/SQ/L1/L2/R1/R2 etc half way for half power so car racing is impossible to smooth braking acceleration
