A Collectors Dream - we've managed to get our hands on 100 units of the 80th Anniversary Limited Edition John Walker & Sons King George V Scotch Whisky 750ml. Selling for $499.99 with free shipping Australia wide. Normally only sold as a luxury duty free travel retail exclusive.

The regular King George V on Dan Murphys is currently retailing for $500 per bottle https://www.danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_917793/johnnie-walk…

We are also currently cheaper the Duty Free prices where the regular King George is selling for $539.00 per bottle http://www.heinemanndutyfree.com.au/sydney_en/johnnie-walker…

The elegant design of the exclusive edition marks the 80th anniversary of the awarding of the Royal Warrant to John Walker & Sons and the limited edition pack has been crafted as a visual celebration of the arts and craft movement that blossomed during the 1930's. The luxurious burgundy box features an intricate motif and an elegant gold chandelier print, in keeping with the art deco style of the time.

The John Walker & Sons King George V blend itself was crafted exclusively using whiskies from distilleries in existence at the time of King George V, including precious casks of Port Ellen Single Malt from the Isle of Islay. This was the period – the 1930s – when John Walker & Sons was first granted the Royal Warrant as a supplier to the Royal Household. The Royal Warrant is regarded as a mark of quality and excellence and is an honour John Walker & Sons continues to hold.

Enjoy!

You cannot post this deal when i just paid off my credit card…

    • Drinking too much will drown u in debt!

So the contents are no different from the regular bottle/package?

    • Yeah it seems to be exactly the same thing in a different box and with a couple more stamps on the bottle. I'm not paying $100-$200 extra for some cardboard and a picture of a royal seal.

Hi Chivalry - that post you refer to was done in perfect timing for customers getting an amazing deal on a lot of our whiskies. We had actually been at that price base for 6 months since last December so it wasn't a special offer. We do review pricing periodically throughout the year and some prices were updated a week after this post. Also whenever we get new stock on an existing line prices may change due to costs at the time of purchase. In saying that we are still very competitive on price on all of those items - still cheaper than Dan Murphys on most. We try to pass on the savings direct to the customer and remain competitive within the market. Thanks for the comment and feedback.

This would go good with my bottle of dry ginger ale and some ice.

Ice from the walls of the freezer works best

  • Wish I could afford this. Heard pretty good things about it.

Rep - any other deals coming soon? I missed out on some the last round due to waiting for my mate to order together. Won't make that mistake next time :P

  • I've never tasted the George V, but based on my previous tasting of the high-end Johnnie Walker bottlings I strongly suspect this might be a terrible waste of Port Ellen :(

  • Hi sky152 yes more deals coming. I'll start to post on this forum weekly with our most current offers to keep you updated.

  • If only burglary rates are a lot lower in Australia than it is.. i would buy a dozen of these! But all it takes is one stupid meth-fuelled burglar and my stash would go bye bye~~
