  • who only has 1 account these days…right?

    • wait, is this a dupe?

EC you cheeky monkey, you savvily opportunistically counterfeit-copied my post!

        • +2

Yeah, unless you specifically mention the Quest bars in the title, then people like this will do that to you, every time on OZbargain. It's about being infamous & gaining credits from referrals rather than sharing just to let others know about an offer…

  • Quest bars were $31.50 per box just 8 days ago, 2 delivered for $63, local stock with much quicker shipping (COTD)

The deal you're linking to requires a club catch membership, this doesn't

      Actually iHerb shipping is quicker.

Takes about 1 week for COTD based on my previous experience. iHerb takes 5 days for me to Sydney.

And the deal is expired now

        Your comment was

cheapest bars I've seen in a while

8 days ago they were cheaper and just like your deal today, people could sign up for an account to access the deal. The only difference being a new iherb account vs a club catch trial account.

iherb are good but average 10-14 days shipping to Melbourne in my experience, sometimes longer, for in stock items via their so called AMS (Australia Post). I don't believe you'd get them in half the time unless you're using DHL / UPS

@nismo Out of interest, were these fresh with a long expiry? COTD can and does tend to sell stuff pretty much on expiry. It can be why some things are really cheap.

      • +1

Not at all. In my experience it's obvious when they are short dated they have a red label and extra discount when close to expiry.

I know what you are saying but I don't agree with you, most of their stuff has long expiries unless otherwise marked. But yes certainly you need to check the dates of foods before purchase, just like you should at the supermarket.

I've shopped a lot on COTD over the last 12-18 months & they have been flawless & super quick to post things out, any minor issue I've had was refunded without question & I could keep the item (or dispose of it). Example? I complained about the flavour of some protein bars, refund. Simple.

I've bought Reese's Peanut Cups from COTD in the past and they've always been on expiry, so just wondering whether it was the same with the Quest. They were still nommy though :D

        • @sparkles:
Their quest bars are Australian stock, from local distributors. The current stock all expire in November except for one flavour in September.

Currently they are $36 which is a good everyday price and cheaper than most supplement stores. They were reduced to $35 at the time the 10% site wide offer was on and I believe it was basically the same stock.

If they only sold items close to expiry, how do you explain the current items?

          www.catchoftheday.com.au/brand/quest/

Just wait for the next 10-15% off and that's it.

I didn't buy any on that occasion because I was overseas and still going through the 5 replacement boxes I got from Quest Australia

          @nismo:

Currently they are $36 which is a good everyday price

I dont see how this is relevant to the deal.

Its $31.79 here so its $4.21 cheaper than your good everyday price.

Lets move on now with relevant comments

          Thanks

        • @sparkles:
Out of curiosity I checked Reese's and their products have expiries ranging from 31/7/2016 (one product) through to December, with most expiring in October
          www.catchoftheday.com.au/search?query=Reeses

If stock hangs around long enough they will discount them closer to expiry, that's probably where you're jumping in & grabbing them, because "they are too cheap to let go"

I've done this myself with some protein powder, but you can't assume all of their stuff is near expiry. It isn't.

        • @easternculture:
So what's the everyday price for quest bars at iherb?

Wait, I can't talk and compare about quest bars on a bargain site, on a deal post related to quest bars?

        • -5

          @nismo:

This deal is not about the everyday price. Its about the price now and today.

Lets just agree that its the cheapest price at the time of this post (and the cheapest in the world delivered if you buy 2) and move on

          Cheers

        • @easternculture:

It's not? People usually like to know how much of a saving this is over the usual price.

I'll tell you because I just checked, currently it's $37.40

        • @nismo: Fair enough, I was just asking. I simply haven't bought enough food type items from COTD (or Grocery Run) to know what is normal and what's not in terms of expiry.

And….now I really wish I hadn't looked at all those Reese's products, so addictive….and so damn bad for me.

  • Heads up on the Sierra bees lip balm. They aren't that great

    • Agree, based on the fact I still have many of these lips balms unopened from a multi-pack purchase many moons ago. But then, I am a lip balm snob and am seeking the holy grail between actual performance, taste, scent and texture. These are not it.

The Sierra Bees Argan Balm however is quite good, for dry bits like elbows and cuticles, smells like Cocoa butter and the pot lasts for ages.

This is called feedback on a product, not crapping on a post. It's a genuine honest opinion. In fact, if anyone wants some Sierra Bees lip balms for free just send me a PM.

Not ok for others to downrate your referral post products, but you have done the same in the past - Ah Karma strikes again.

        • @RockyRaccoon:

          your referral post products

Its actually not a referral post. Where can you see my referral link?

        • +5

@easternculture: Why are you so bitter and twisted about every little thing today? According to you no one is allowed to analyse prices, nor comment on the products in question. Chill out dude.

        • +3

          @sparkles:

          +1 on chill out.

Its useful to have user feedback here. Thanks!

      • I've stocked up on blistex lip balm and quite happy with them

  • Thanks placed an order with iherb. I always try and buy local to support the local but it kinda hard when it's 40 bucks a box and you go through them like there's no tomorrow.
