      What happened?

At least Victoria got to get excited about the 2026 Commonwealth Games for nearly 12 months! That was well worth the $1b for that nice feeling for a while.

We probably have the worst Zoo in Australia though.

      • It's not been the same since the safari park closed down. The "Poms on push bikes go free" offer was the best.

      Free Willy?

      Oh wait, wrong app

      • Justice is not a frivolous thing, Simpson. It has little if anything to do with a disobedient whale. Now let's vote!

2 years back our premier who was minister for Tourism at that time, went to New Delhi to promote tourism but his actual agenda was to learn how Kejriwal (Delhi Chief minister) freebie model works to win the election. He is implementing it is WA now.

No complain… keep it coming :)

  • One downside of the promotion is that it limits enrollment to one program per person. I usually enroll in two programs each year because they're affordable at $32 per program (10 lessons per program). However, due to the promotion, I was only able to book one program, even though I was willing to pay for second one or both."

It might be a bit of a downside on a personal level, but at least it means that more people overall get the chance to learn to swim.

      • Yes I agree with you. Not saying it is a bad deal. Just sharing the jnformation what I have found.

  • Thanks!

  • Unfortunately, lots of freebies is not going to boost his popularity (outside of OzBargain) like a public spat with entitled billionaires. Common enemy trumps common prosperity.

    • Looking like he would still win, but by much less than before (not that it would be possible to win by more)…

  • Unfortunately it's only between the ages of 5 and 17. My 4 year old won't be eligible.

  • Hopefully all these spots don’t just get filled by Rich tight asses that utilise ozbargain. (Not implying all ozbarginers). The initiative is more designed for kids from disadvantaged backgrounds and low income households.

No, there is a separate program designed for that, as noted above. This is intentionally open to encourage more people to take up the programs. Swimming in Australia is important regardless of the income of parents.

      • Great to hear. 👍🏻

      • Damn it, I was going to use the savings to buy extra avocado toast every day, I guess I'll just keep paying.

        • smashed avo is so 2014 mate, it's all eggs benny now
