STARTSOC

All 21 original Famous Five books in a slipcase - the ultimate collection to introduce the best-known and most popular world of our greatest storyteller. These are the original books which children have been enjoying since the 1940s. Meet Julian, Dick, Anne, George and George's dog, Timmy, who have adventures and solve mysteries on and around Kirrin Island. They encounter smugglers, thieves, runaways and other strange and mysterious people - both good and bad. The Famous Five began life as eagerly-awaited magazine serials which achieved an instant following. So popular were the books that readers urged the publishers to establish a Famous Five club. The characters have inspired board games, stationery, a play, and two TV series. Having celebrating 70 fabulous years in 2012, it's clear the Five are here to stay for a long time to come!

Those were the carefree days unbounded by the shackles of political correctness and the tyranny of gender ideologies.

    • +18

Yup, the good old days….when characters could be called Dick and Fanny, and characters like Bert and Ernie weren't assumed to be in gay relationship just because they share a house.

50 bucks at our local Big W. It's in the most recent catalogue.

    • +2

Knowing BigW, that doesn't equal to being available. Website says not available for my area (WA)

      • It's in my local in South East QLD.

        • +1

Fair enough. Still think this is a good deal though, as it is available everywhere.
Does make me wonder how they can sell this at <$2.50 a book.

    Hi All,

We stock genuine products at great prices and have just launched this week with the goal is to be fun, be the best value and be the number one destination for online children's gifts in Australia.

In Regards to the deal on the famous five boxset we were lucky enough to order on a huge print run that allowed us to get a good price from the publisher. I am sure this would have been the same print run that Big W would have been a part of.

We believe that offering the convenience and time saving from shopping in front of the TV may be worth the extra $15 on the chance you can get a copy cheaper at Big W.

Happy Shopping we will have lots of new products added over the coming weeks.

+1 for shopping in front of the TV.

No argument at all that it is a good price, however if it can be found at a Big W store then it can be had cheaper. All the best to your store and hope you have all the success in the world.

Bad idea with the fake accounts people, I do hope you get your shit together and let the deals stand on their own merit, don't create fake accounts over it.

In 2 weeks once you're unbanned just pick a really good deal to post.

I was always more of a Secret Seven man myself though didn't mind the five. Can recall the names of the five though from the TV theme song.
    Good luck with the venture.
