Need to Start Reading about Life

Hi guys, are there any books regarding life, wisdom anything alike that you recommend me reading? I'd like to start reading.
I need to change/widen my perspective on things.

Life is short. So is mine.

Thanks -

    Meditations by Aurelius

Also, Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl is also one that's heavy on life philosophies and if you've ever pondered on the meaning of life, this book will give you that answer. And it is not 42.

    • Thanks shaw! I'll definitely check them out!

      • Meditations is not an easy book to read. I had to put it down fairly quick. It was written a long time ago in Roman and the modernized version of the text has many different translations. https://www.reddit.com/r/books/comments/jaqm1/whats_the_best…

Historical books are far more interesting. Especially ones dealing with WWII

I've been listening to the tim ferris podcast, where you can probably pick up some good life philosophies. I tried to google for some sort of description i could copy, couldn't find a good one, so perhaps this link will give you a vague idea. He interviews people who excel in all sorts of fields.

He quite often refers to some book on seneca who was some ancient roman philosopher

For accessible reading material on this, check out The Book of Life

What is the Book of Life

It’s called The Book of Life because it’s about the most substantial things in your life: your relationships, your income, your career, your anxieties.

This book is an offshoot of The School of Life.

The School of Life's youtube channel has quite a few interesting video clips - not just about life, but also subjects ranging from philosophy, history of ideas, political theory, literature, sociology etc - in accessible form for the lay person.

    Hope you find these interesting.

Personally, I find the structure and flow of the Book of Life to be a bit disjoint, hence, do not enjoy reading it as much as watching the School of Life's video clips.

  • Funny you say so. Mid life crisis?
Life is short - these are my words daily.

  • Bible/bibles of religion - as one option. not that you have to believe but to look at life at different angle.
